#27 no tuition in germany in Off Topic
AegisI think the tuition fees here are reasonable enough to not fall into crippling dept once you graduate (roughly 5k per semester), but we do pay more taxes in the end.

Funny that reasonable for u guys is 5k/semester when we're paying 500€/semester over here and I still find it a bit unreasonable.

Great that Germany is changing it, education should be free for everyone.

#47 Reflex: Arena shooter in development in Other Games
Red_I'll be honest. After 2 more years of Arena shooters I think the scene might be the closest thing to if not entirely dead. As of now I think this game looks awesome but after 2 more years of hype dying down I don't know how well it will do. I'm going to support it anyway in hopes of the game doing really well but 2 years away is sorta disappointing.

Arena shooters are not going to die. Just like FPS's are not going to die. Just because you have witnessed the moba craze the last few years doesnt mean all the other gametypes and competitive communities will cease to exist. People will still have different preferences and there will be always lots of people loving FPS's or arena shooters more than mobas. It might not exactly be "In" or the "flavor of the month" game genre but it wont disappear.

#7 Team Fortress Modification Manager v1.0.4 in Customization
nataponJarateKingspammysv_pure?It just manages mods. Whether the mod can get past sv_pure or not depends on the mod.
would be nice to display the level of sv_pure that the mod can get past.

If the server is using sv_pure 2 chances are u cant use it. If its using SV_pure 1 it depends entirely on the server sv_pure whitelist and if its using SV_pure 0 you should be able to use anything. So it depends on the server not the mods

#21 Bottleneck/what shall i upgrade? in Hardware

I have the same exact build you have except I have a gtx 670 instead of the 560, and that one seems rather low specs for such a high end pc. If there was anything you should upgrade its your gfx card imo

#5 Healthpack Reskin (help pls) in Customization
DrJeremyKanecoAre you testing this on a local server or online?
Online / pubs, though I don't think that should matter since I downloaded reskins from GameBanana and installed them in the same manner without a problem.

Well it does matter because these servers can set restrictions with the sv_pure cvar

Try it on a local server and make sure you're running it with sv_pure 0.

If you're testing it on sv_pure 2 servers then it will never work, sv_pure 1 might or might not work depending on the server whitelist.

Also, custom materials are different from weapon models, etc...

#11 KAMANDI by deli in Videos
Gunbladegod i hate this normal speed to slow speed shit that people edit in frag videos.

And I hate people that criticize editors for doing exactly that, "editing" frags.

If you wanna watch clean frags just watch a fragshow dude, no one's making you watch a fragvideo which obviously is edited. It pisses me off people dismiss editors technical and creative ability just because they only want to watch 100% unedited frags. Like Googler for example gets so much shit despite him being one of the most gifted editors in the scene, with a portfolio that could make a lot of professionals in the area green with envy.

Using video velocity and slow motion is a great way to synch with the music you're using, and creating smooth effects and transitions and trust me, it's not as easy as it seems. And I think deli did an awesome job here, perfectly timed with the music and with a very smooth pacing

#62 Making Pyro More Enjoyable for Everyone in TF2 General Discussion
4812622KanecoThe fundamental problem about pyro is that the class skill floor is incredibly low. By buffing flame damage you are decreasing even more the skill floor of the class, are you sure that's a logical path to take?
Are we talking about shit tier valve servers full of free to play players? Engineer literally plays itself. Medic is also a ridiculously easy class, just click on your Heavy once and follow him. Heavy is easier than Pyro too, you get more health and your primary is more powerful, easier to aim, and has better range. And shooting the floor as Soldier is really, really easy in pubs. Stupid pubbers can W+M1 as Pyro around as easy as Heavy or Soldier, but unlike them, you actually need a tiny, tiny bit of gamesense if you want to get into CQC without being spotted.

I'm pretty sure any of those classes, bar maybe Heavy, would be far easier to play with a wheel or feet than Pyro. Especially with two pocket Medics. Against trackpad players who don't know what wasd keys are.

I'm 99% sure if I got people to play this game who have never played an fps in their life or are not very familiar with FPS's the class they will instantly relate to and find more fun to play with will be the pyro because it's so easy to play right from the get go. You don't need to learn building mechanics like the engineer, you (kinda) don't need to aim like the others you mentioned, and you find it way more fun than medic.

I have seen this happening, I got 3-4 friends to play tf2, some of them only played mobas, some played fps's ages ago, and the class they instantly started playing after trying most of them was pyro.

Not saying this is a bad thing, but you can't deny pyro skill floor is probably the lowest amongst all 9 classes. You don't need to buff a mechanic that will make it even lower. It doesn't sound very logical from a competitive pov. Mind you Im talking about skill floor not skill ceiling, which pyro can have a incredibly high one with the reflect and combo mechanics.

#20 Bring back cp_yukon for ESEA s18! in TF2 General Discussion

I like gravelpit, I also like Yukon, so I guess I'm with you.

I never really got to play it competitively but the map has a great feel, would love to try, my only concern is that the map feels really enclosed at times, not very big bomb friendly. As for gravelpit never understood why it was removed both in EU and NA, it seems people just don't want to go through the effort of actually learning the map and making strategies.

As for sunshine, I can't really say much, it's decent but doesn't feel anything special. Metalworks is ugly as hell and never liked it, it just doesn't play right IMO. And logjam, well, its getting better but still not quite there yet...

We have yet to see another "Process" quality map. Accepted and loved by everyone right from the start.

People have shown that you can sucessfully play pyro using your feet, or even a wheel, isn't that enough proof that the class is already dumbed down to a whole other level?

It's something that can't really be solved without disturbing the whole class balance of tf2, and while I feel removing airblast all together is not fair for the class either, maybe it could be reworked, but in no way it needs a buff of any kind, the class already serves its purpose perfectly. And its damn annoying at that.

#18 TF2 update for 9/15/14 (9/16/14 UTC) in TF2 General Discussion
HuckKaneco Seriously, when you have bugs like invisible players or broken huds,
Valve doesn't have a responsibility to fix old broken huds that the hud creator stopped updating. And while the invisible player bug isn't completely gone, it is no where near as bad as it used to be.

What I mentioned has 0 to do with custom huds.

The vanilla spectator hud still gets broken after pauses, thats a high priority bug imo instead of removing a silly thing like jumping after shooting or detting while taunting.
