#29 i52 Stream Postmortem and GXL in TF2 General Discussion
blueeMeant to ask about these:

Total team health bars between teams, y/n: http://i.imgur.com/vpDPBIl.png

I really dont like this, it clutters the screen a lot and looks way out of place and just not aesthetic. There was one time where both streams tftv1 and tftv2 were casting the same stream and tftv2 didnt have the total health bars neither the health bars on the players, just the outlines and it looked so much cleaner and pleasant to the eye, I ended up just sticking with the second stream because of that, to be honest I was never a fan of the player health bars to start with, I think they are a great resource for demo reviewing and general study of the game but in live streams they just add an unnecessary clutter to the screen when you already have a HUD that displays loud and clear the hp and status of all the players.

blueeWhen a medic dies, show 0% charge and last used gun, or remove all text and just show background (or remove background too / make a cvar / whatever)

The first is ok imo

#34 Comp.tf - Play of the Day in Videos

So the Portuguese TF2 lan is happening next weekend, I'll probably be attending and streaming it.

I thought, if anyone would be interested in watching me edit a PoD video live on stream maybe it could be cool to do.

Either way, I'm hungry for cool demos to edit, feel free to submit them through http://submit.comp.tf/ or else I'll end up editing something from i52 next

And check the full PoD playlist here

Anyway, I was in a pub match just now and someone asked me if this was signed by the famous Tagg (the YouTuber. Used to play COD and now he plays with STAR_ all the time)

#290 Comp.tf - A competitive tf2 wiki? in Projects

Hope you all enjoyed i52.

Here are some stats from that weekend. We beat the record for concurrent viewers, I only have this screen atm, but we reached way over 200 during the weekend.

Our insomnia page was a success, sincere thank you to all of you who helped and contributed during the weekend, special thanks to Atlas for porting over the new sleek interactive brackets from liquipedia over to our wiki, they really do look amazing.

Insomnia series, as well as other lans are arguably the most exciting period for this project, we average somewhere around 300-400 visits a day and you can see the difference to the huge peaks around both insomnias and also some other smaller lans.

That page quickly reached the top 3 most viewed pages on the wiki in under a week. Comparing to last years' insomnia our site saw around a 20-30% increase in traffic during the same weekend, while that might not mean much since the site was on its early stages last year, it certainly shows tf2 is not dying. We peaked a little over 8k visits on saturday alone which is a record for us.

Thanks everyone. Hope you enjoyed the lan and found the wiki useful to keep up with all the awesome games going around. much <3

edit: contrary to my initial belief the downtime the site faced late friday was not related to the heavy traffic, our server was actually being the target of a ddos attack, not sure we were the main target but we suffered it on the worst possible time.

#45 i52 Fragmovie in TF2 General Discussion
vanillaI feel like so many individual players had enough incredible frags for their own video. How about a bunch of video editors get together, each one pick a different person, and there can just be a "i52 - Yuki" video and an "i52 - Seagull" video, etc.

Hmm, I see so many names but no streamers at all, I think thats what the scene lacks the most so where are you gonna get yours? Unless one of the casters is caster / streamer, which IMO is a bit risky

#46 first day at school/upcoming first day? in Off Topic

Already first day at school? What is the usual school schedule there in the US?

Here you usually end around early june (exams late june) and start mid (15th) september only, middleschool, highschool and college/univ alike, never seen anyone start in august.

PossimpibleI imagine amazon putting up buy links for music instead of muting everything. That would be wonderful.

A logical solution that also doesn't hurt their consumers? I only believe it when I see it

twenty2020group stage was just glorified scrimming

I think its kind of unfair to say that any team could have placed 1st when Froyo literally 2-0'd iM and then epsi twice.

It's one thing to say that teams are super close when they go 3 maps in the knockout and it comes down to the final round (via epsi vs. mix^) or golden cap (iM vs. mix^ and mix^ vs. epsi). Those were fucking close, but watching Froyo play during the actual bracket I never caught myself thinking "wow these teams are dead even". Close yes, but Froyo just outplayed iM and epsi repeatedly.

I don't think its fair to say that either, IMO, epsilon played super bad in the grand finals, lots of ´precipitated decisions, rookie mistakes, some times they just seemed to run in with no objective at all, thats not the epsilon I have seen playing for years. So I dont think its fair to judge them from those last maps either. Looking at the whole tournament, where they dominated the invite group, and then played semi-decent in the knockout phase, I think its safe to say any of those 4 teams could have gone home victorious on a good day, I really dont think froyo is so far ahead the other 3.

Universerulerthat's what i mean. every team that's won i-series recently has dropped a game in the grand finals at least, froyo's the first to dominate the entire tournament and not drop any maps.

But they did drop 2 maps in the invite group. Against immunity and Epsilon respectively.

#2 New guy wanting to get into competitive in TF2 General Discussion

If you want to learn the general gist of competitive tf2 I recommend having a lookk on our get started page on comp.tf which is a wiki that focus on competitive tf2.

It also has a lot of other resources linked, like povs, guides, demos, etc, etc...
