#4 Medic Looking For Low Team in Recruitment (looking for team)

Hello, and welcome to comp tf2! I help run the newbie mixes. We meet every Friday night from 9 PM est to 1 AM est to play games. Basically, you get partnered up with 5 other "newbie" players and a coach. So you have a full team of players that are roughly your skill level and a coach that has considerable experience in TF2 watching over you and helping you out.

Info on how to join and play in mixes can be found on our steam group page: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/na6v6newbiemix

I'd also recommend you get an FPS config to improve your framerate. You are at a considerable disadvantage at such a low FPS. You can get one of comanglia's configs here: http://www.teamfortress.tv/25328/comanglia-s-config-fps-guide You can also ask any questions you have about the configs in that thread.

Best of luck, and always feel free to PM me on TFTV if you have any questions about getting into tf2!

#7 We need mentors for the S22 team drive! in TF2 General Discussion
CrimsoNI'm a player who's looking to get into the competitive scene (600+ hrs into TF2). I have two questions:
-How does a newbie like myself get started?
-Are there specific dates / times assigned for when the teaching will be on?

You get started in newbie mixes. Newbie mixes happen every Friday night from 9 PM est to 1 AM est. From there, you can join a team in open if you're super serious about it or UGC if you want to take it slow. Then you play with that team and keep a solid mentor that goes over demos and stuff with you.

If you're more curious about this stuff, just stop by newbie mixes and hang out in the draft zone. During downtime, the admins and coaches answer misc questions about this kinda of stuff.

Also, welcome to comp tf2!!

#1 We need mentors for the S22 team drive! in TF2 General Discussion

The NA 6v6 Newbie Mixes will be hosting another team drive for this coming season of ESEA. We’re starting earlier this time around and plan on giving the teams several weeks to sort everything out before the season actually kicks off. If you’re interested in helping out with this team drive, we’d love to have you. We’ll be taking applicants for a while and will pick the most qualified folks and assign them teams in couple weeks.

What you’ll be doing as a mentor:

  • Helping people new to ESEA get everything sorted out for signing up and paying fees.
  • Doing a map review for each new map.
  • Doing a demo review each week.
  • Helping the team leader with any questions they might have.
  • Being a line of communication between the newbie teams and the Newbie Mix admins.
  • Being a helpful and friendly person all around.

It shouldn’t take you but a couple hours a week, and it will make a world of difference for these new players. Helping new players get into the scene should be the top priority of anyone interested in the health and longevity of this game.

Post a comment to sign up as a mentor using this formatting: http://pastebin.com/7p3brtS3
If you want to sign up privately, message me on TFTV.

Thanks.

#64 KevinIsPwn lft in Recruitment (looking for team)

I guess I'm looking for this coming season. I have an IM roster if you manage to sort out a way for it to work.

I'm best at pocket. I can play everything else decently except for demo.

#9 is shaving your legs ever acceptable? in The Dumpster
eeeKarlFor swimming or bike racing its normal to shave before championship events but that's a pretty niche casewhat if I look like im in shape?

do what you want with your hair and realize the only other people that care are weirdos

#5 is shaving your legs ever acceptable? in The Dumpster

As long as you don't have a huge beard or whatever, I see nothing weird about having cleanly shaved legs. It's a bit odd, but people like what they like ya feel?

#17 Double.tf - TF2 Coinflip Site in The Dumpster
jmeyer2kI can't really get rep without people on my site

You can get a bunch of rep from my pov if you support the tossup claim you made in the OP.

#12 Double.tf - TF2 Coinflip Site in The Dumpster
jmeyer2kYou may remember me from shutting down tossup.tf against Delta who was scamming everyone

I don't keep up with trading drama at all, so I don't remember that. You only posted one thing to the tftv thread about it, and it didn't add anything to the discussion. So I'd love some links to info about that or something. Also your https link isn't working.

#59 I didn't know this about ESEA, did you? in TF2 General Discussion
ulmyxxI just got paypal and remembered this thread, how do i cancel my subscription?

An impressive bump.

Settings (top right gear)
Payments (3rd tab on the top)
Pre-approved payments (under "Manage Upcoming Payments")

You will see a list of all your subscriptions there. Click on the one you want to cancel and hit "cancel". It's kinda buried and took a while for me to figure it out (because I'm stupid). Hope this helps!
