If you want to practice your pipes, dm servers can be a viable option. However, if gamesense and positioning are your main problem, reviewing your own demos to indentify mistakes you are making. Pay attention to when you get caught out of position, what you die to etc. Getting someone else to review your demos with you can help to see mistakes you aren't aware of. Apart from that, keep playing pugs and scrims, you improve at the game by playing the game

Banished is not that big of a game, but had mod support built in pretty much from the beginning, leading to the publishing of great mods such as "Colonial Charter", which are entirely community-made and free.

I think it would have made sense to put the title/flyover thing at the start and to have it take place on the same map that the frags are on. Currently looks like it's transitioning to a granary frag clip that's not there

Many of the maps in TF2 have been created by Community members and were subsequently included in the game, such as Process, Snakewater, Gullywash etc. Valve has implemented a system called Map Stamps to reward the creators of these maps, enabling you to show your support for a map you particularly like.
