SetsulPower-line ethernet?

SetsulI mean the solution is right there:SkyH4ighusing wifi, not wired. ive been told to use ethernet and all of that.
Even if it's not practical as a permanent solution it would rule out either wifi or software problems. It also would've been a temporary fix for the match.

i've been told to just go wired and use ethernet. setting it up tho wouldn't happen rn, the set up would take time and im in a complicated situation which would make that harder. i do wanna go wired tbh.

Will you at least wait more than half a day before the next copy and paste repost?

Even if you areSkyH4ighdespite to find a solution to this problem
I mean at least put some effort into it.
That includes:
-Thinking about which subforum to post in before posting, not after.
-Not deflecting every suggestion with "I'm dumb, I don't know how". You know how to use google and you're too old to be spoon-fed.

Also who the fuck is -fragging everything in this thread? If this thread upsets you don't keep refreshing just to -frag. It'll only upset you more

*triggered*

i realized the mistake of not putting it in the right topic AFTER i made the thread, so i was like oh shit :p

i had a match today and this shit has got to my nerves, and nothing has been working. so i thought i make a thread so people could probably help me out, but instead i got someone pissed off in the thread for no reason rolf.

MarxistIf you're not wired it could be interference with the wifi, or whatever device you're using to get wifi - wifi is by its very nature not as stable as a wire and you will have ping variation no matter what.

If you're using wired internet, it may be the cable itself - sometimes things happen and they go bad try to isolate that problem, if you plugged in with your old PC and it was fine, then we can rule that out.

It *could* be whatever sort of internet controller you have on your mOBO.

But, I would vote, far more likely (if you aren't using wifi), is that you have some kind of malware/spyware that is utilizing your internet connection periodically to send or receive data. It happens sometimes, and it can really tank a connection for a brief moment if it's trying to send or receive a lot of data at once. It would be a good idea to boot in safe mode with networking and try running the following command:

ping www.google.com -n 50. If you don't get any ping variation in the test, up the number to something higher, -n 1000 or something and let it run for a good long while and see if you can get it to replicate the ping variation. If you don't have any trouble after repeated tests, I'd wager it's malware using your connection (safe mode may or may not, but usually restricts such malware from booting).

using wifi, not wired. ive been told to use ethernet and all of that.

that ended confused the fuck outta me...
where do i go to put in that command? that last part made 0 sense to me

(Re posting this cause i am despite to find a solution to this problem, and posting it in a more reasonable category. ffs i cant even play games, help a gamer out)

This has been happening for a while.
ill be in game (any game) and my ping will be fine. out of no where it will spike to 300-712, i can't even move, and then discord/mumble will even lag.
when this problem first started, i thought after i change my internet service this would be resolved. but nope, it's still a problem and in all honestly, its gotten worse.
i also believe it has to do with my pc, and not the internet. cause on my old PC, i never once had this problem. and i thought once i changed my internet service, this would be fixed. i could be wrong with that tho.

I've been given two recommendations to try to fix it.
one was to clean out the PC of any dust, still have the ping problem.
and the other was to update me network driving, still, nothing.

i don't know how to solve this and its getting on my nerves, if anyone can help, that'll be great.

k thanks bye.

It's also possible that your computer is at the edge of your router range
