1) Infiltration. I just can't see Infil not taking this with the dominant year he's had. I wouldn't put it past him to have a a counterpick up his sleeve either.
2) Tokido. Continuing his story of near-excellence this year, Tokido will lose against his demon in GFs.
3) Momochi. The way Momochi plays Ken is different to any of the US players that won ranking events this year. Truly tested Tokido at CEO, will be a huge threat.
4)Haitani. The best player in Japan according to the Japanese players and the epitome of consistency. So many top 8s including 4th at CEO
5) Xian. Making the best out of a character considered low tier, Xian's top 8 placings cement him as a legitimate threat.
5) Kazunoko. As we saw at Capcom Cup in 2015, Kazunoko possesses the talent to read move after move. Armed with a solid character in Cammy, Kazunoko definitely has the potential to catch fire and tear through the bracket
7)Nuckledu Has some of the most impressive showings against international competition for a NA resident. His nash plays significantly different to Infil's yet suits his playstyle beautifully
7)Fuudo. Marn said it best when he said that top 8 would always have a random Mika and Fuudo is my selection. Godlike reactions guarantee Fuudo to be a threat, if not break top 8 with some sick airgrabs.
(some picks for top 16)
9-16) Daigo, Justin Wong, GO1, Chris T
Wildcards:
Keoma. Going out on a limb. Looked pretty good at his one showing at RBK
Will2Pac. Proved at Dreamhack Austin his Laura has massive upset potential.
Luffy. You can never trust a Mika and Luffy has been looking cleaner and cleaner
Phenom. I didn't get to catch DHS but he took out some killers on his way to victory. Worth considering
Eita. Could easily make top 16. The craziest Ken player out there. In this game Wake-up DP is a commitment and Eita lives and dies by his own madness.
Omissions:
Snake Eyez. Still needs to adapt to the new iteration of Zangief
Poongko. It's unclear if Capcom will ever make a character as versatile as Seth and Cammy clearly doesn't fill the gap. Seth was beautifully moulded to his playstyle and I lack faith in his ability to fully utilize Cammy to full potential.
Either way, Evo is going to be godlike. Just wish that SFV finals weren't at 3am for me.
