obsidiianP.S. - Your problem is that you're using Easy H.264. That program is terrible.
Got it. I changed to Handbrake, and that seems to work.
I may invest in After Effects later in time.....
Thanks for the help

This is my 2nd thread addressing this type of problem, but Tf.tv seems to be the only place that actually is able to help, so here it goes. So I've been having a problem with making reasonably sized videos with reasonable quality, and I feel as if I'm almost there, but I'm not there yet. Here's how I'm trying to do it: I use Lawena to record the demo, import that into VirtualDub save that as an AVI (I don't change any VirtualDub settings besides frame rate and the audio), and then import that into easy h264. I then use the highest video quality setting on that, and export the final video. The problem with the video is that my colors are a bit off, and the light flickers a bit also. I believe that the problem resides in the final step of compressing the video, but I'm terrible with this stuff. So, I guess the point of all of this is what am I doing wrong, and what can I do to fix it?
The Office is my favorite show of all time. I don't watch any stand up comedians though, so I can't speak for that.
What a great game to watch. Overtime hypeeee
aieraLimb-ohhThere's already a thread on this......Why did you necro this thread just to say it is redundant? Why not just let it die?

Fair enough.

flatlineDid you copy over the minimal scoreboard file from customization as well?
I just did that and it worked. Thanks for your help and sorry for the bad questions
I don't really know how to answer that (I'm quite new to all of this). What I did do is copy all of the files (including the minimal scoreboard file) into resource/ui. Is there something that I did not do correctly?
flatlineThose are old labels. What version of the hud are you using? It shouldn't be broken like that.
On the readme it says version 1.81
What am I doing wrong that is causing the 'unknowns' to show? I'm using 4:3 by the way.
FayngNewbie Mixes help a lot
omniFinding out about stuff like newbies mixes is a great way to get started. I'm sure someone can give you a link to somewhere you can get involved.
In terms of TF2Center, just join them anyway dude. I have 5,000+ hours and there are people with thousands of hours less than that who are better than me. Hours don't always mean they're too good for you. Give them a shot, you'll learn from better players, get shouted at, get headshot by perma-snipers and all kinds of other dumb shit. But it's okay, just keep at it, you'll notice an improvement every time you play, as long as you're not ignorant to improving.
Thanks, I'll check out these fabled "newbie mixes"
First off, let me state that I'm currently a Iron UGC HL Sub. In other words, I'm very, very new to competitive tf2 (I watched my first competitive game about 6.5 months ago), and i've been trying to get more involved in the scene, so I thought I might try to start playing 6's as scout or roamer/pocket. The thing is I really don't know how to start playing with people that are about as experienced and skilled as I am (I have about 950 hours right now). Whenever I check on tf2center (once again, let me stress that I'm very new to comp tf2, therefore tf2center is where I go to play comp) for 6's games, all of the queued players have 2000+ plus hours, so a bit above me skillwise. Anyways, I guess what I'm asking is where should I go to learn how to play 6's? Are there any good guides/groups that would help?
AyRwhen you exported it from vdub, did you end up with a file that was huge? the uncompressed file tends to work poorly with media players afaik
so you gotta run it through something like sony vegas or a program called easy h264 (google it) and that should output a like 40mb file and that one should work ok
Thanks, I used h264 and it worked great. I wasn't aware of the file size problems in the media player
AndKennethThe files that you are looking at are fully uncompressed and hard to work with. You can have TF2 output compressed h.264 video which is easier to work with but it's not as high quality. However if you do want the highest quality possible, just put those files into your editor and make aggressive use of prerendering.
At this point you are highly limited on the amount of memory you have in your pc. The more memory you have, the longer footage you can prerender without issue.
Well, quality/size isn't really a problem here, it's more the actual file itself. After it's exported from VirtualDub, it seems to be all jittery and freezey, while the actual quality of the video is fine. That is what I need help with.
