I think this is a really important point to make right now for Blizzard. Recently, there have been several factors leading into the perfect storm that really could've hurt Blizzard in the near future.
A) You've got recent popular "shooters" like The Division basically taking the side of the cheaters and in some cases actively encouraging it.
B) Players who are being accused of cheating in Overwatch will likely be participating in whatever Blizzard's first sanctioned tourney is.
C) There was no report system in the game, which spurred community conversation on "Blizzard doesn't really care about cheaters, just like A)!". This coupled with the fact that we don't know what anti-cheat Blizzard is using (likely something in-house) as well as how Blizzard treats cheaters in their other games had people reasonably concerned.
D) That a 20 tick-rate demo that uses interpolation is in no way 100% indicative of cheaters 100% of the time. Watching a demo doesn't prove one way or another if a player is cheating, even if the player does the same thing in all their demos. If someone is consistent, then it would consistently make sense that the 20-tick replay feature misses out on how they're actually aiming.
TL;DR: I think this is good news and at least a step in accountability for Blizzard. A fair-play environment is so important and if cheating becomes a massive problem in the first 6 months after release it will hurt the player base numbers significantly.
mmgibs band of retards if they can pool their 6 braincells together and focus

I mean, I account for at least 5 of those, what's your layout here?
defyeeewhy would you listen to something that invalidates any credibility you have in a discussion about music though haha?

Saint_Magustri_Sorry everyone. Since Valve in their wisdom released a 2nd update at 9:30 to fix a small thing from their 1st update or something the servers weren't updated for the 2nd update. I'm trying to contact Shooter to get the servers updated.
tri,
As far as I know the 2nd update didn't require a server restart. Sincerely, me.
it did though x.x
Really? It let me join a server that I only updated after the first update after downloading both updates. I guess I could be wrong though.

Seeing as it's been 4 hours and the servers aren't updated I'd assume we have matches tonight ladies and gents.
I guess we'll wait and here from tri before we call it a night.
Sorry shade... United and Delta are probably the two airlines I've had the absolute worst experience with in this country, especially as far as luggage is concerned.
Hopefully shit gets cleared up.
mgibI keep randomly timing out of servers in the middle of the game and then I can't even reconnect for a while. I can connect to every other server fine. I've also been having trouble loading youtube videos in my browser lately too if that helps the case.
I've tried flushing my DNS which has worked but other times it hasn't. Tried resetting my pc, tf2 and my router. Any ideas what might be causing this?
I was hoping you fixed this problem last night :(
I did some more digging and one recommendation I found was doing a factory reset on your router (if you have one), and resetting your modem. When the modem restarts, plug in your router and then power it on. Don't change any settings on the router until you've tried it on factory default.
Lastly, try to find a link between the servers that you're having issues with. I.e. specific IPs, areas you might be routing through, whether or not your DNS resolver is working or not (you can have internet and connect to IPs, but not a DNS server). These are just a few things to try.
Also, if you find an IP that you're having connection issues to, IMMEDIATELY run a tracert to that IP. Contact your ISP and forward it to them, and ask for tier-2 support right away. When you give them this info, they can help you nail down if it's a routing/networking issue, or something else.
On a side note, our loss against HM was completely avoidable: Before that match we scrimmed topshot's team (who I'd argue are much better than HM) on the same map and 5:0'd them. We fell apart during the match, though. I would also agree that the match is what's important, not scrims.
It'll be interesting to see what happens for the rest of the season. I've been extremely impressed with the skill level of some of the open teams/players. Good luck all!
Blight vs. Complexity ESEA LAN finals season (5 or 6 or 7 or 8 I don't remember) was one of, if not the most impressive matches from that timeperiod of this game. Insane back and forth, eXtine casting. It really didn't get much better than that.
The video that eXtine put up even had those kick ass uniforms that he used to make for teams. Blights was like black and it looked really sick on Red team. Dat nostalgia...
Wow... These are some pretty drastic changes.
Well, if it doesn't work, there'll always be CPM!
Is london's post going to be on ESEA? Did I miss it?
