#15 The real metalwork rollout in TF2 General Discussion

I don't see why anybody would care - it's not like demoman can actually do anything on metalworks middle.

So what if you're 3 seconds faster or slower, it's like seeing who can make it to the dmv faster.

#41 favorite type of underwear? in Off Topic

You know, I just realized I'm wearing the same goddam undies that I had in high school - for context the last time I was in high school was 2006 lol

Really as far as buffs go, it's not that much of a buff, now I can fire it without having to wait forever to reload, or having to go "now is a good time to reload" and so on. It eliminated an annoying part of using the weapon.

Needles still give you a much better shot of killing stuff, and crossbows provide 1337 arrow heals 1-2 times a night and the occasional 40 damage air shot.

On the bright side, if the only way to get it to work is to utilize the wait command it shouldn't work with a comp config execed on a properly set up server :/

The pocket knife thing from munch reminded me of 8th grade health class. It's pretty common for males here to use snuff from an early age - many such persons started using regularly when they were around 7-8th grade since they'd work in the fields/barns with their dads/brothers before and after school.

Technically you weren't allowed to have any tobacco products on campus, nor were you supposed to have them generally anyways being as the legal age for such substances is 18 in Indiana - but the teachers didn't do anything about it.

Except for 8th grade health class, it was the "don't do tobacco" section, and one of the guys in the class had a big wad of chew in his mouth so the teacher kicked him out of class and he ended up getting detention for chewing during the no tobacco segment lol.

#22 let the bodies hit the floor in TF2 General Discussion

In fairness to drowning pool, I got to personally witness their last live performance with that particular lead singer - he was at OzzFest and OD'd in his hotel room that night - I didn't actually pay much attention to their set as I wasn't a fan, but it was surreal waking up the next morning and seeing it all over the news.

Literally the only person I know who can solo carry 100k is an actuary for a solar panel company with an MA in statistics and those dreadful actuarial exams lol. But then I don't live in inflationary hell (major urban areas).

yeah definitely check all your connectors and make sure you didn't shake something loose. You may also want to look at your HDD and make sure it didnt wig out in the mean time, but a small fall really shouldn't do anything bananas crazy to your computer.

The only I ever did that was questionable, was our senior prank.

My HS had a sister HS - the building was built exactly the same, and we were only about 20 minutes apart, with basically equal demographics and so forth. We contacted other people from the school, and told them that we'd planned out this senior prank where we'd just switch student bodies for the day, and that since both groups of seniors had senior only classes 1st period we exchanged information about where to go.

But then, we thought it'd be even more interesting if we'd just *not* switch. So everything goes according to plan, and yet, when the other seniors show up, they see we're still there, an announcement comes over the intercom that a bus was en route to relocate all seniors from the other school to their proper school and to meet in a preplanned location because we'd just trolled them hardcore.

In college we did many questionable things and I was fined around 250$ (others were fined more) for participating in pretty extreme stuff such as international sauna day and international porn day.

Sauna day: We turned all the faucets and showers on as hot as they would go in our dorm floor and opened all the doors to the stair wells and bathrooms, and with the aid of box fans, the steam thus generated flowed to the stair wells and into the dorm floors above us. We succeeded in turning the girl's dorm floor into a giant misty jungle hell. We were all fined 25$ for wasting water.

Porn Day: Our campus had a "prospectives" day where prospective students would come and have a big meet and greet with profs from their future majors and future class mates and get a tour of the campus with their parents and stuff. So we had our entire floor burn and exchange massive amounts of pornography in preparation for that day. We knew they had a big tent meeting in the campus' main courtyard (which our dorm happened to be adjacent to) for lunch. So at noon, we fired up the porn, turned every stereo, PC, and television to maximum volume, opened the windows, and turned on the porn. A cacophony of intercourse echoed throughout the event and was so loud the President stopped speaking. We locked our dorm doors and fled the building - it took campus security a full 30 minutes to unlock every door and turn off all of the offending devices.

We were all fined 120$ for disrupting a campus event, 3 people got expelled, and every single person on our entire dorm floor was forbidden from living on that floor ever again, or having anybody from that floor as a roommate, ever. The floor is now a freshman only dorm so as to prevent traditions from being created lol.

#8 World Series Game 3 in Off Topic

Yeah the obstruction rule is a judgement call in those cases - if they would've chosen to be absolute about it, then all Craig had to do was run towards the prone third baseman and he'd have gotten his run lol. That "likely" in there shows that the call is subjective, I've seen it go either way - the most often that it comes up is diving for balls as per the example and safe calls at second during attempted double plays where the runner (having tripped the defender) attempts to go to third.

The only thing I was ever specifically coached on was to get the hell out of the way as quickly as possible so you don't get spiked (because spikes will break the skin pretty easily lol).

At the end of the day it's just part of baseball, as soon as the throw went back to third I could hear my ol' coach humming rag-time because a cardinal rule of good defense is to never throw the ball back to where it just came from because it tends to go badly for you, as it did for the bosox lol.
