Your best bet is probably craigslist. Just look for postings with crt monitors and search make/model for a manual and perhaps some reviews. Make sure it can do at least >~110hz (crts don't usually hit 120 on the mark many are like 116 or 118hz). Make sure also to check the driver situation as some monitors are weird with windows 7 and you have to pull some voodoo to make them to operate at their max refresh rates, but that's sort of unusual.

Most crts you will find only go over 100hz at 1024x768 or lower, but that really shouldn't be a problem since tf2 is completely fine at low resolutions.

You should be able to get one at free or near free unless it is especially nice because people just want to get the heavy, huge, and outdated object out of their homes.

#102 LFT Scout high-open/low-im in Recruitment (looking for team)

Dude, I'm not sure if you know, but if someone trys you out and then doesn't contact you afterwards, they don't want you on their team. If they never wanted you on their team, why on earth would they be mad if you didn't join?

Mikeikeikeikeikeikehooliimmature and annoyingis this because i didn't join your team?anyone who takes what im saying seriously doesn't understand a single word i've said. but your post is good advice, i've never had a looking thread before and wasn't expecting people to get mad at me for not joining their team and try to make sure i didn't get a team because i didn't join theirs. but hey, i had a good laugh. now i know who the bads are in the community. thanks.

It's things like pretending that we absolutely begged for you to be on our team but you denied us and now we are coming back to sabotage you that makes you look like a complete clown. In case you plan to pull out the "it was all joke pls" excuse, how would anyone but those involved even know? You can't just straight lie about people in a thread to try and make yourself look better or whatever and expect them not to defend themselves.

#57 invite no more in TF2 General Discussion

I remember back when I pugged with spadez a couple years back around the time of his infamous "death". Almost everyone in the pug group treated him badly, while he did act pretty immature, he didn't really deserve the amount of hate he got.

I figure this was the case throughout spadez' tf2 career, except now he isn't even notably immature or annoying. As for when he was, he has obviously paid for it with interest by now. This thread is probably one of the nicest "I am quitting" threads ever. Obviously people have some respect for spadez if they are willing to come out and say, 'It wasn't serious, sorry.' And then even go on to ask him to keep playing. spadez isn't super immature, he was just conditioned by years of people treating him badly and he just expected that to still be the case.

pt is actually a really cool guy. He has generally strong dm backed by a large amount of experience which make for some really consistent play and he is just a positive guy. Pick him up.

#1 Moolkey LFT in Recruitment (looking for team)

I am looking to play scout on a team at around a highish open level, but I am open to any tryouts.

I started playing tf2 a while ago but quit for a couple years. Now that I have been back for a while I think it's time I join a team again. I am looking to improve a ton this season with some cool, dedicated people. Able to play whenever.

I played on Take it easy! Season 11 as well as a couple twl/cevo seasons a long time ago.

If you're interested, feel free to add me.
