Hey sorry for bumping this but im having a few problems uploading to youtube. The .mp4 file i get after encoding looks pretty nice on my computer but youtube keeps destroying the quality
Are there better options apart from h264 to encode?

Tang_UnbrownymasterI dislike it. If it's used enough online advertising becomes profitless, which is already a huge deal for places like twitch. Most people who use adblocker will never disable it for specific sites (you can check the people who whined there was a bar where ads should be on this site).
On the flipside, more people using adblockers means fewer incompetent users getting viruses, which equals smaller botnets and such. If in the future adblock implements a "allow non-obtrusive ads" setting (without taking bribes like adblock plus does) and it's already used by a majority of the population it would provide a very strong incentive for advertisers to improve the quality of their ads.
there's an option for that already

maybe im exaggerating but what if valve did those to see how the 6vs6 community reacted to them? in that case then we just demonstrated that we hate change and refuse to try or adapt to new stuff, just like robin said
