AllealProbably the only time I've truly been pissed at Valve was when I heard Robin Walker say he wanted to see more innovation in comp. How the hell can you demand innovation when nothing ever gets changed? It's not like it requires entire new mechanics, and they don't even have to think of the ideas themselves. I don't see what they have to lose. If a weapon sucks oh well, it sure won't be the first one and definitely won't be the last. One of the best ideas I ever heard was giving the Liberty Launcher increased knockback in exchange for 3 rockets. It's an airshot machine. That's like the funnest thing I've ever heard of.
anyways ya pubs kinda suck now
Yeah, now that I've actually PLAYED Dota quite a bit since that quote from Robin was actually relevant it only confirms my initial thought that he was completely talking out of his ass. The MAJOR difference between Dota and TF2 about it's "meta shifts" and "innovations" in the comp scene are that they usually happen when there are major gameplay balances to heroes and items. In Dota, these updates happen usually once every few months, so the meta shifts around these changes. Different heroes become popular. 6.82 made Ogre Magi immensely popular in the competitive scene for a long time to where he was in almost every match I watched. In 6.83 that's set to drop in a few days, he's getting a nerf.
TF2 doesn't have any of this. It's impossible to innovate or change the meta when the game itself barely changes at all, or more shit gets added in that's completely useless anyways. The unlock stat changes that got them were kind of interesting for a while, but it seems like Valve just stopped caring about it once again.
Medick's Madhouse, then the "Angry Clan" which was like a breakoff from the TF2 side of the Medick servers. Which so was slaughterhosue I think and I used to play there some too. Took a break from TF2 for a few months and then came back and started playing on Furry Pound lmao.
Getawhaledownpouryeah, fooling around with dumb unlocks doesnt make me have any more fun with the game.
I'm sure your input is noted and appreciated
You are one of the most obnoxiously condescending people in this community for only being here for a year and half and casting being the only thing you actually do.
Anyways, I barely watched any of this but it didn't look like it was completely as cancerous as I was expecting it to be. I still don't think I'd actually enjoy the game with completely unrestricted unlock rules but it never hurts to try new things I guess.
Smash Wii U is pretty fun
"Created by me, not Sony Vegas"
Pick him up, he's excellent.
I can't wait to listen to my fifty copies of the robocop theme in flac.
The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn might also be a good one to try. I mean I read that when I was 12 or 13 and found it interesting then and you could probably make something about the American Dream out of that. Though again I would highly suggest anything from the early twentieth century.
The Heart is a Lonely Hunter by Carson McCullers is an amazing book that looks at what "The American Dream" can mean from multiple perspectives, it's interesting and not too difficult to understand. It may seem like a long book but it's a really fast read, you'll get though it faster than what you'd think you'd be able to. I'd recommend that or The Great Gatsby like someone else already said. A lot of American writers from the early twentieth century wrote a lot of great novels that explore the idea of what it means to be "American" and what the "American Dream" really means. I'd start there if nothing anyone has suggested here sounds interesting.
The main problem that was going on when stalin was running new map pugs is that it was hard to get people that actually wanted to test new maps. Sure we could get 12 in a server but they'd either just fuck around the entire pug or they just never gave any actual feedback and kept asking if we could play the "good" maps instead (which at the time was sunshine). Imo if people want to get GOOD NEW maps into the rotation there needs to be a group of higher level players... like IM+ at least taking a few hours out of their nights on pug.na or whatever to just play some new maps and give actual feedback to the map makers. This would also help with the problem of people just voting in whatever without actually knowing what the map is like at all.
Vortexyou mean the best
Yeah I'd love to get randomly ran over or completely blocked from pushing in/out by a train, what a great map.
Like I don't get it. We all hate random crits and shit like that right? What makes random environmental hazards like fucking trains actually appealing? I'm really curious here.
http://store.steampowered.com/app/312610/ No really just buy me this game and we're good. You can readd me on steam or whatever if you want idc. It's what I would have spent that $8 on now anyways.
EDIT: ALSO YOU NEVER ASKED FOR MY PAYPAL OR ACTUALLY MADE AN EFFORT TO PAY ME BACK DESPITE ME SAYING A FEW TIMES THAT I WOULD HAVE APPRECIATED YOU TO DO SO.
For real though, buy Metal Slug X for me.
