#43 What did YOU do today? in Off Topic

Watched LAN finals, stopped by a friend's place to help him replace his alternator, played some board games at someone else's place before abandoning that to play with some kids and their marble track toys that were there... attractive single lady playing with the kids helped that decision. Went home to finish up an application for a building permit, played one 12 man pug, and stopped by my Dad's place for a beer. Now reading. Pretty good Sunday.

I've only ever gone down those cables, shredder. Going up at dawn seems like a stellar plan not just for the views, but because they get so goddamn busy. Like fucking SCARY busy.

#176 Quick-Fix in 6s? in TF2 General Discussion

Valve should have absolutely no bearing on 6v6 decision making. They made a great game for us to play back in 2007, and that's where it pretty much ends. Valve introduced items, Mann co, F2P, and a shit ton more items with no REAL thought to balancing classes, and game modes. They want an ever increasing number of items to keep pub players interested and keep Mann co rumbling along. Some will be utter trash. With dota there is a real interest in balance as it's built to be an e-sport. TF2 can have broken items for years without Valve noticing, or really caring because it's intended for pubs.

They aren't evil or anything, but they will NEVER have the same goals or expectations for the game that we do, and the sooner we all realize that the faster we can get back to evaluating weapons over time like logical people. Trying to fit in with the ideas of those who don't even dabble in our little niche, intend on moving the game elsewhere, and have professed to not appreciating our little world any longer is ridiculous.

#54 S14 LAN Discussion! in TF2 General Discussion

I thought that was pretty boring as well aside from a few nice plays, and some harbl 80% offclass. QF seems to lessen the importance of uber advantage with faster build/easier escape, which makes the game far less interesting imo. Flying medics were cool for the first couple weeks, but the flow of the game is pretty meh now.

Pledge is a good caster, but still doesn't have a decent mic setup. MY EARS! PLS! WHY U HAVE TO BE ALL STATIC/REDLINE?!?!?! It's time for a good setup my man.

Well this has been a great introduction to a new service.

I'm actually tempted to install origin, as I don't have to give EA money for BF3. Anyone going to talk me out of it?

#34 Coffee or tea? in Off Topic

Both are amazing.

Bialetti espresso while watching the sunrise is one of the best things about any climbing trip I've gone on in the last 8 years.

I don't understand why you can't make peace with the admins personally rather than asking the community to dog pile on your problems for you. Perhaps I'm missing some back story though.

#97 America vs. Europe in News

It was pretty cool, but it seems like you guys lacked a shit ton of filler footage. No establishing shots like exterior of venue, Telford, players traveling/socializing, or basically anything aside from one camera interviews, and games. It was probably an issue of time and equipment, but it comes off as being pretty flat due to it. Stuff like that helps the narrative immensely come editing time even if it seems like utter trash when you're filming it.

#268 i46 documentary in TF2 General Discussion

If I watch this and like it enough to pitch $20 Luke's way, I'll have to buy it 4x? If I feel like giving $40 that's 8x punching in my credit card. Kind of ridiculous, as it's entirely optional to give in the first place.

#7 EVE Online Giant Nerd Space Battles in Other Games

My brother played EVE for quite a while, and it was so slow I couldn't watch even though he was involved in some huge ops. I've always been more interested in CCP and how they solve problems, expand, communicate with their player base, and such rather than the actual game. Fascinating company.

JackyLegsWhy on earth would you switch a G400 for an Abyssus?

g400 feels like palming a watermelon in comparison?

Shape/size is all I can think of, and the reason I'm using an Abyssus. Nothing else was small and decent at the time I was last shopping, but an EC2 would probably be my choice today.
