If you can afford Intel in the budget, you go for intel. AMD is only really an option either for specific tasks that use 8 cores properly, or if you have a budget of like 500. There's no reason to go with AMD for the cpu with an 800 dollar budget.

USP doesn't exist in GO, but if that's the case me and my mates can finally go Splinter Cell on CT side pistol round and make calls like "tango down" again! YAY ^.~
P2000 is essentially a new revision of the USP irl.
The config generator uses Chris' configs as a base. And even if Chris' configs are a bit dated, they still work fine and there isn't really an alternative at the moment.
Timedemos run as fast as the hardware can run them. Essentially they run at 66 frames per ingame second, so if you get 132 average fps in the timedemo it goes twice normal speed. 66fps however would run at regular speed.
That information doesn't really help you though.
kirbyDustbowl benchmark thread? Provide pls
http://teamfortress.tv/forum/thread/7598-tf2-benchmarks
There you go.
I'm running the benchmarks with the dustbowl benchmark in the other thread. Before defrag ~210fps average.
I didn't actually bother to average it out properly, but I didnt get a bad result after the defrag. Usually when running timedemos the first run is meaningless due to it stuttering in the first second or so, dropping the average fps. With that said, I got around 200 fps in the first run before the defrag, and the 2nd and 3rd runs before the defrag ended up being around 213 fps. After the defrag I got a stable 212-213 fps in all 3 benchmarks, including the first one after launching tf2.
Based on that I would assume it in fact did defrag it, or the required files just remained cached.
144hz works on the xl2411t oob, but I believe it isn't for sale in the US. The black equalizer isn't really good or useful imo.
pernixI have the ASUS VG248QE 144Hz monitor. The increase in quality from 60Hz to 144Hz is similar to going from 60fps constant to 350fps constant. I love every aspect of it and would suggest it as a less expensive alternative to a comparable benq.
Edit: dont forget the price of the OS
Why aren't you running lightboost, it's infinitely better :(
RawrSpoonbearodactyldidn't occur to me that people would assume its for tf2 editing lol.I have zero idea what this means. Editing is editing. Sometimes you can edit videos which happen to be from TF2, but that still falls under the realm of editing.
I assume it was mostly an assumption, and since he isn't a well-known tf2 editor he shouldn't upgrade for editing tf2. However since it's editing something other than tf2 it's pretty hard for anyone else to judge from what he know.
On the other hand, if someone wants a rig that's good for video editing aswell, who are we to tell them not to do it, regardless of how good an editor they are.
Make sure you haven't set tf2 to high priority. That can fuck with input device drivers.
I had a similar issue earlier with my old E8400 build, seemed like some caps shorted out of something. I let the pc be for a while (didn't need it as it was my secondary anyway) and it booted up again. I had it unplugged that entire time. Also during my time in HP tech support we had to make our customers do voodoo shit like a powercycle (power off, power cable out, hold power button for 1-2 minutes, plug the pc in and try starting). Could be worth a try I suppose. While I call it voodoo shit, it sometimes actually did something (or the customers actually plugged the powercord in, hard to tell)
Care to elaborate as to why you would purchase a mouse with hw accel, when you can achieve the same effect with sw. As MInd said, you can turn sw accel off, but hw accel you can't do anything about. Also nowhere did he say that the shape was bad, but you can get mice with essentially the same shape without the accel. Also I hope you realize hw accel is NOT a feature.
SetsulWhat if i told you, that there are players in prem/invite who use the G500 or "worse" mice?
How does that matter in an objective view of mice? If schocky played with a wireless ballmouse and still wrecked people, that wouldn't make the mouse any better.
Well not to be rude, but my 2500k almost doubles that fps :/ And if you're only going to play tf2 and not anything else you don't really need anything but the cpu. I don't understand why you would go for an ssd etc if that means you'll get a significantly weaker processor. Just my 2 cents tho.
If you only want to play tf2 and not stream, there really isn't a good reason to go for an amd cpu :7
