Contrary to popular belief, the kind of billionaire that makes his fortune from human slavery is not going to be convinced to change his ways by some other peasant humans waving signs around and refusing to buy a few thousand of Brand 7's phones. This is such a nothing argument.
There are, in fact, people belonging to marginalized groups who have expressed wanting those with privilege to speak up against slurs n shit, because many marginalized people are exhausted by having to do it all themselves. Of course, there are some belonging to marginalized groups who say they don't care, or to stfu, but they don't speak for their entire community. At a certain point you have to decide if it's more important to you that some guy who doesn't give a shit continues to be comfortable with the status quo, or that people who are asking to not be hurt anymore are heard and hurt less.
To the best of my ability, I don't say offensive shit in public. But I also have the ability to know my audience, so in private settings with friends who commiserate on queerness or neurodivergencies, I might say offcolor things.
Honestly, this shit really isn't that hard. It's really not hard to care about others a little bit, and not act like an unfiltered freak with no object permanence who forgets there's human beings on the other end.

at a point you have to accept that not all the behind-the-scenes details are being told to you, and you'll probably never get them. the number one story here being told is "rgl match comms", because almost no one here interacts with hubida since he's kept to himself for a year and it's the only story people have right now. so the idea that he should be booted out via mob vote over an admin vote because he's a "danger" to a community he doesn't interact with is literal fearmongering.
As someone who also said slurs like that in 2015, a year is not enough to unlearn it. I wasn't nearly as vitriolic about it as Hubida in those logs, and it still took me multiple years. It's not enough to stop saying slurs to save face or fit in. You have to actually unlearn everything that took you down that path to begin with, and change as a person. I don't know the dude personally, so I can only hope that you're correct about him starting that journey to self betterment. But it's simply unacceptable to say that he's put in the time and should be a prominent figure in the community.
