#186 What did you get for Christmas? in TF2 General Discussion

To all you guys that got an army of socks or something like that- you'll be begging for that once you move out. :)

Merry Christmas.

#12 From South American scene to TF.tv casting team in TF2 General Discussion

Doing a Portugese cast will be a nice gesture towards Brazilian community. However, that leaves 95% of other players without a cast they can understand, so maybe implement them both (if there are enough resources)?

#256 ESEA and CEVO in TF2 General Discussion

Some people here are being absolute cowards and (I am sorry to say) idiots when they:

a) Refuse initiative by the community to improve some things.

b) Cry about the LANs, as in something that community cannot organize (which Dikker proved wrong, and I am certain French community can show you their own results. Also there is QuakeCon who started as a community thing, but look at it now.).

c) Cry about money loss when you travel to LAN - welcome to European world people, we don't get jack shit for attending "i series", yet we go there every year, get horribly drunk and comment how English women look like dinosaurs.

d) Refuse to be patient at how things go with CEVO, it isn't a small task.

e) Listen to Skyride who isn't active in TF2 for years now.

#100 ESEA and CEVO in TF2 General Discussion
djcKanecoAlso squid, that skyride post you used as base of your argument in the first post is from a person totally out of touch with the scene and probably still bitter with it. The ETF2L admin team has some of the most helpful, competent and genuinely interested group of people I have had the pleasure to deal with.
what about admirable's post where he shit all over etf2l and its admins, too?

He is a part of the admin team, "premiership ambassador" to be exact. Also, nobody said we are perfect, don't expect that from volunteers. ;)

EDIT: Unless they are German volounteers.

#155 ETF2L North American Division in TF2 General Discussion

First of all, hello everyone, first time posting here.

It's not really my place to tell you what you guys/girls should do with all this ESEA crap behind you, but something has been bugging me since all this shitstorm started.

If I am not mistaken, there are several initiatives going around, some of them involve making another competitive TF2 league. If I am not mistaken, some of the people involved into this are people with good standing in NA scene, which is a great start. However, I believe that making another league is not a task, but a damn Odyssey and therefore (in my opinion) it will be a huge, huge mistake, because I don't see it happening.

The reasons behind this thinking is that I think most people here don't realize the amount of work it takes to create something like that. Not only to create, but to keep it going steadily until TF2 finally dies. There is definitely enough volunteers at this moment, as people are hyped and "stuff is happening maaan", but please be realistic, try to look out of your own frame and understand that 80% of that same workforce will vanish in thin air in a matter of months.

Creating a league is a huge task, especially if you plan to make it a #1 NA league. Admittedly I never involved myself into something like that, but becoming a part of ETF2L admin group several months ago gave me a different perspective, the one behind the scene. Some admins literally put hours and hours of non-payed work, whilst still being an active part of the community and in most cases even playing in the league itself. It's a tremendous amount of work, something I am certain every TF2 admin can confirm, from Wireplay, UGC, ETF2L to even ESEA.

Instead of making another league, I suggest joining the alternatives that actually came forward these days to the NA community - CEVO and ETF2L. As I am definitely biased I won't speak about I/ETF2L, but CEVO guys at least look serious and willing enough to make some serious changes in NA TF2. At least both orgs have an admin team in waiting for NA scene to decide. Don't run into the fog like blindmen because everything is pumped up to the maximum (f.e. five forum topics about the same thing, more or less), and for god's sake stop asking Enigma to become a TF2 Jesus and save everything.

Just be patient and pick wisely.
