If we'd known it was an option, we probably would have. Like Luke said, he didn't know we'd be able to charge for a 50fps version on VHX until like 2 days ago.

#170 His posts aren't valid at all. He's putting words in eXtv members' mouths, and acting like he knows anything about how this production process was managed, especially in #168. Read that particular post and tell me with a straight face that's not flamebait.
We're glad for any support we get for the 50fps version. There aren't any bonus features, extra content, or anything else. It's just a higher framerate and the satisfaction of compensating the work that went into the project.
dellortSalamancer#143 Perhaps you could dig up some quotes from me, Luke, or eXtine backing that up. I'd appreciate it.Not that I have any issue with Luke charging a small cost for the full quality download, but June is correct that this was initially proposed as a "community contribution" and that Luke was volunteering his time to edit it. I'd rather you just straight up say Luke needs/wants some financial benefit for all his time instead of suggesting that you had implied there would be a cost at the start of the project. I will be buying a copy of this to support Luke however I do think June is entitled to complain about the cost which was not forewarned.
I'm not suggesting that I implied a cost at the outset. All I'm suggesting is that I never explicitly said anything one way or the other - mainly because we hadn't really decided anything of the sort at the outset. We're splitting hairs about this, though. I'm glad you'll be supporting Luke and eXtv!
Seems like stirring the pot to me, Lange. All I'm reading from him at this point is a bunch of :words: designed for flamebait. Doesn't he like getting -fragged anyway?

Sorry if that came off grouchy at all. I will try to find more polite ways of saying "fuck you" in the future.
That's the idea! Unless a sufficiently large proportion of the viewer base thinks Luke doesn't deserve to be compensated for a year's worth of work, that is.
Never took video of the high school band shenanigans. I also am so badly out of practice on the horn these days that I won't be putting video of that up like ever.
I used to play baritone sax in the band, and I annoyed the crap out of the whole woodwind section for a variety of reasons, most of them deliberate. So the director sat me in the trombone section. Whenever we played the fight song, I was able to shut down half of the trombone section due to laughter because I'd play the whole thing a half-step too high.
...And if you showed a non-TF2 player a picture like this, they would react the same way. Kind of trite to hear all the "lol idk what is this" coming from a fairly hardcore gamer site.
EVE is complex, but those pictures are just pictures of starships and their effects. Some shoot lasers, some repair each other. The pictures actually don't do a fantastic job of displaying this, just like the picture I linked does a poor job of showing how TF2 is played.
CCP should take a page out of Valve's book and let you add customizations to your ship. You could have some be as simple as a paint job, others be misc-type items like googly eyes or shark teeth for specific ships.
If they added these items as an optional graphics package (something you can turn on and off to mess with performance, like the rest of the gfx settings), I don't see why it couldn't happen.
TEST is still around, there will still be big fights. We just lost one of our two regions. And Goons didn't really ruin much of anything - they gave and will continue to give a lot of good fights. Also, their leadership structure is superb. Good diplomacy with their allies, good strategy overall. They deserve to be smug about winning :P
I just like hearing fleet commanders call my name, so I volunteer for scouting and suicide duties often.
"Ok, Farmstink, what's in the next system?"
huehuehue
edit: Also, your avatar on the test forums is the same style as mine. I took the googly-eyed thrasher. Obviously, our tastes are influenced by TF2/Twitch a little too much.
revenge of the edit: ALSO, I hate grinding for anything. That hatred started when I read about the psychology of the Skinner Box and other addiction mechanics as they pertain to video games. Two things about it really turn me off: 1) that companies know these psychological mechanics and are blatantly using them; and 2) that grinding doesn't actually light up pleasure centers of the brain. Rather, it lights up hoarding/collection centers, which are closely associated with addiction, but not fun. So long story short, I deliberately gave up on grindy bullshit a long time ago for philosophical reasons.
bride of the edit: ADDITIONALLY, if you were taking 2 minutes to lock things, are you sure you weren't sensor-damped by 15 FuckYouFleet Celestises?
Stop taking multiple benadryl each day.
At least, that's what my problem was.
Assuming you aren't on any drowsy meds, yeah, exercise and regular schedule will help. If you aren't tired at noon, make sure your bedroom is totally dark and you haven't been playing games or looking at a screen for at least 30 minutes prior to sleep. There's some solid research showing that computer and tv screens reduce melatonin levels in the brain and make it more difficult to get to sleep on time.
No, it's to enjoy flying interdictors in big fights. I just don't have to commit the amount of time that I used to, but I still get to fly one whenever I want, which is a nice thing for me. It's turned an MMO into the equivalent of logging into TF2 and playing a few rounds, which I always thought was not a good way to play MMOs.
