When i alt tab out of tf2 (full screen) theres a good chance I won't be able to open the game again, the application will freeze and subsequently crash. This issue does not happen in any other game, including other source engine games (CSGO etc.).
this issue has plagued me for just over a year since I upgraded to a GTX 970. Prior to this (GTX 670) I did not have this issue. In that same time I've tried various different launch options, changing some cvars in my config, changing my refresh rate. I have a friend with the EXACT same graphics card and he has this same issue with tf2, but not other games.
I'm using win 10 with 3x24" monitors connected to the 970, 2 at 60hz and main at 144hz.
Obviously if this was killing me I could run windowed mode, but when I tried windowed mode I got 30-40 less frames, which causes me to dip to around 100, which is a bit gross at 144hz.
Any one have any ideas about this?
Sam_Houstongnat[I think the team representing asia fortress is pretty set on going. Some of the Western Australian players have scrimmed some 6s matches against asia fortress in mix-teams. This included some of their players that intend to head to i58. They have a very different play style from any other region and some extremely talented players, so it will be exciting to see how they fare against the rest of the world.
Last time I watched a high level Asia Fortress cast the players seemed to have pretty solid DM and/but played super aggressively. It was a ton of fun to watch but I wonder how well that'd work against more cohesive teams. Does this stack up with what you've seen?
the asian players that have played in this games very good dm, especially the ones intending to go to i58. They definitely play aggressively, so it'll be interesting to see how that goes against people with similarly matched dm levels and cohesion but its definitely been troubling to play against when you lose coordination for a brief moment. The AU (perth/wa only) teams that we've thrown together to play these guys have only been mildly cohesive and varying dm levels (div1-2) rather than being able to straight up pick the best AU players/have jasmine scrim them.
this is largely because you're limited to players/countries who ping <100 to singapore servers.
ps, teejay has some of the best rocket aim I've seen in a while. not dissimilar to geoh and yuki in au - expect big things if he goes to i58.

If you want STVs, you can almost definitely get these from both i49/i52 demo packs. You could also probably get STVs from ozfortress/ someone in the ozfortress community for various seasons sheep played.
If you want POVS you'd almost definitely be shit out of luck.
I have this EXACT same problem also, I have a GTX970, not sure if the nvidia thing is a common connection. Speaking to people with other graphics cards (not 900 series nvidia or amd cards), they don't seem to be having this problem.

as someone who works full time and recently made a 7 minute frag vid for someone who basically had all the ticks set out and I physically went and got the demos of his computer, and it STILL took forever; I 100% sympathise with huhy. It's a massive undertaking and I fully understand why it takes so long!
I recently made a frag vid for a friend using pretty much the original guide in this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1mvTkrzjc7s). I recorded the clips using lawena at 1080 & 120fps and used sony vegas to throw together etc.
I decided I should start using srcdemo2, assuming that it would give me smoother, better looking clips. However, I've done quite a few different setting tests with srcdemo2 and in general the quality does not look as good as just using lawena at 1080/120fps.
The current "best" srcdemo2 settings I've managed to get were PNG files, final video fps of 120fps, blendrate 12fps, gaussian blending 0.1.
I was wondering what srcdemo2 settings some of you guys use? links to any vids using your settings would be appreciated !
sidenote: on SOME of my srcdemo2 tests I had the audio desync issue, is there anything that specifically triggers this?
find someone with some experience/skill to review your povs and tell you when you're being a retard.
post-nerf i think demo positioning is the most important thing to get right. A lot of demos undervalue their life, I think a good demo is the one who does good damage while also being really hard to kill; from a combination of good positioning (individual and team) and good DM.
dollarlayerI just updated my MGE server a few hours ago (was having the problem with everyone spawning in a black room). Which is not uncommon and happens a couple times a year when valve brakes sm and mm.
I used the latest stable snapshot (I'm running a VPS running linux ubutnu server). I used: http://www.sourcemod.net/snapshots.php
1.7.3-git5247.tar.gz
Then I used the latest stable (non-dev) linux snapshot for metamod.
http://www.metamodsource.net/snapshots
1.10.6-git943.tar.gz
Downloaded them, exacted them to the same folder then just used WinSCP to drag and drop and overwrite the old files in /addons and /cfg. You may need to backup your sourcemod admins file if you have admins steam ID's in there, then just replace it later. My server is working just fine after doing this. Perhaps try these versions if you are on linux. Also insure that all plugins are loaded by typing sm plugins in console to see whats listed.
updated to these versions (but on windows gameserver), and then after to the latest stable builds (1.8.0 sourcemod and 1.10.6-944), and still having the issue where the plugin doesn't start and people are prompted to join team and spawn in a dark room. :(
any ideas?
StevieSomeone helped me fix it, It was my lerp/interp settings messed up. Shoutout to ConalJr.
posting your original settings and then the settings you used to resolve the issue will help with other people having similar problems, if you get the time?
