So this is a problem that has plagued me for years, and I thought it's about time I get around to solving it.

Occasionally when I play scout, after pressing space bar to jump my character will immediately double jump in whichever movement key direction I'm holding (which is usually none, so I jump straight up like an idiot and lose all momentum). It doesn't happen every time but it happens several times a map.

Things to note:

• It doesn't seem to be a problem with my keyboard, because this has happened across multiple keyboards.
  
• It seems to happen more the worse my connection is.
  
• I've brought it up before and other people have said they've experienced it too (but apparently I get it the worst because of course).

I don't have any weird movement scripts, as far as I can remember (I'll double check though) or particularly unusual bindings. I have the null movement script but obviously that doesn't affect the space bar.

Comparing APM is pretty useless because SC players spam a lot of keys to keep their fingers warm whereas the AI is only useful APM, so the AI has a major advantage in that regard.

Also they say in the vid that the AI's reaction time is only 350 ms (whereas pro gamers probably average <200) which is an unfair comparison because the AI sees an action, thinks, and reacts to it in 350 ms which I don't believe a human could maintain. When you take a reaction speed test, you are just waiting for one consistent trigger and responding to it. You don't have to think. Just look at the insane stalker micro of the AI, blinking individual stalkers on low hp to the back of the pack immediately. No human could do that.

There's definitely a large mechanical advantage to the AI here, but it's still p cool.

I dunno I got the zalman and it was trash garbage. I think that was a problem with my pc/motherboard/audio driver rather than the mic though. I use the blue snowball now and it seems okay. I sit it on a kitchen towel for a bit of dampening.
