Yes, this is actually a battle to avoid relegation.

I'm considering going even though I have no interest in highlander, just because the houses/whole experience looked dope last time.
awwww baby this is gonna be good
KonceptLegacyI do plan on playing esea (hopefully) next season, but it's not really helping newer players when they ask for help and their only answer they get is "pay to play in a league that you'll get shit on and maybe you'll get better eventually"
This is another problem as well, which is a bit of a tangent: there has never been more content for people to learn from than there is currently. There is more content to help you learn comp tf2 than you could watch in a lifetime, with youtube guides, written guides, demo reviews, stream povs, casts with analysis, etc.
And people always just want specific help for themselves or their team. It's so draining to see these resources around and people just don't care enough to use them. Nobody should even have to ask for help right now, until you're at least IM level. It's madness!
You'd learn SO fast if you made use of these resources, reflected on your own gameplay honestly, and played against teams of a higher skill.
what a game
You guys do realise that if the teams playing UGC just played ESEA instead the skill level would be p much the same?
Like flame said, the more of the new teams that sign up to esea, the more that Open will be full of teams around their skill and it will, at some point, force a new division. Siphoning people off into a free league that isn't as competitive and has a much smaller reach only makes the skill disparity problem worse.
The only argument for UGC is that it's free, and that appeals to people without money or without the desire to spend money on gaming. But for those who can afford to do so, going to ESEA would be a better solution for the whole community.
EDIT: The argument that people are more likely to have a bad experience if they pay for it is also bull imo. In ETF2L (free league) you also have teams who get stomped in their first season and cry. Whether or not somebody will be put off TF2 is not dependent on whether or not they paid for the privilege of being annihilated.
nykJust checking, this is drackkk's first season in prem right?
He also had experience playing with i52 Reason Gaming which was a Premiership level team: Bulle, huhy, Drackk, Rising, smzi, Herr_P iirc. They didn't last that long but did play for a period of a month or two before LAN.
the301stspartanLooks great, will this be IM/high only or cover top div news as well?
The site has no intentions of covering top division news in the same way tftv does, but there will be content about the top division. Opinion pieces, articles, and what not.

Pog fuckin Champ the man is back
Here's how I think the Invite teams will stack up this week on Metalworks. It's the best week so far, it looks FAT. Very hyped to see these games.

The lack of tournaments also doesn't give you anything to base rankings on other than ETF2L. I think it's unlikely that dd+5 abs would make the semi-finals consistently in Premiership tournaments, despite them currently being the 3/4th ranked team. I don't think they would consistently beat the other Premiership team they met in the QF, they just had good results when it mattered in the season.
Nonetheless they have proven themselves to be mid-Premiership rather than low. I had previous pegged them as 7th at the beginning of the season, now I'd place them 5th on balance. I think with more opportunities to face Premiership teams, they'd average out a little lower than this season would suggest.
She's possibly even more dishonest than other politicians she's running against, but I also don't understand why that would lead you to the conclusion that if you were going to vote for Bernie and he doesn't make it, then you should switch to Trump. There are other factors to consider as well!
We TF:GO now?
Could be very interesting, keep making it pretty.
trash89zombiezI still remember when Robin called 6v6 stale.looking back on that in hindsight, that was incredibly messy. I feel like robin was trying to speak in a sense of "we could try and test these eventually" in the same way the TF team is known to test weapons they know will be absolute dogshit just to be able to look back on it, but when you tell a competitive community "hey your metagame is boring, try weapon bans" with little other context to what people went to them for (which was basically an early form of MM, if I'm recalling sal's videos correctly) that's not ending well
That entire visit was ridiculous as well, when they came back we got the VAGUEST sense of whatever conversation they had. So much must have been lost in translation.
Where do you get your information from sheepy? The more posts I read on this topic from you, the more I don't understand where you're getting fed information. Do you watch specific youtube channels, or read certain newspapers? I'm very curious, you have some oddly specific viewpoints that don't seem to align with reality.
