Whilst I agree with Stark, I still think it was an odd decision to cut the 4th place team from these playoffs. You could run the same system with four teams and it would be even better! Three games being played, big hype, all on a sunday.

You're assuming Saints will finish last. If any other team finishes last and there is any less than that amount for 4th place they are financially screwed, so we are accounting for that. There are also no better teams who would potentially attend at this short notice, we liaised with all the teams well before this.

The only reason EU top teams are so eager for razer cups is cuz of the dosh nothing else.
No that's a big slight towards razer arena if you think we're raving about them just because of the dosh. There's no client messing up, it all works seamlessly, the admins are fucking incredible, it's a dream to play in them or organise them AND there's dosh. It's the best system out there for running / playing tf2.

This event was so short notice you wouldn't believe. I'm writing up the announcement now but think of it this way - this is just the beginning steps, we aren't going all guns blazing intercontinental bonanza this year, but it's a good step in the right direction. If you're planning intercontinental stuff you need months of preparation, fundraising etc.

As much as I genuinely don't mind Highlander I really hope they don't add it into mm. They have a great opportunity to create a single defining competitive gamemode, and it looks like there will be division right from the beginning.
