the brick fucking wall known as Braden Holtby. 19 shots in 1 period and a 5on3 still no goals. Hate my life right now

Nuseman numlocked was the best aggressive demo of all time (admittedly this was pre nerf stickies but he was still head and shoulders above the competition), and he was the one behind the aggression that i49 epsi were famous for.
I would debate this to a point. While nothing can be taken away from numlocked in any way, I don't see how he was ever a more aggressive style of demoman than Kaidus. I think it just so happened that during the time period in question, Numlocked was on significantly better teams than Kaidus but he was not a more aggressive demo IMO.
YipyapperSpaceCadetWhat an awesome first game Blues vs Blackhawks. St. Louis seemed so much faster and crisp in OT, you could feel a goal was coming. Chicago was just trying to survive and got a bad bounce. Should be an insane series.Agreed to both of those statements. Even though the Hawks had a lot more shots on goal in that OT and the game in general, the play between them was either pretty even or slightly in the Blues' favour. Elliott was, as I figured, going ham though. It's really weird to say 0-0 games are exciting, but this one was pretty awesome.
On another note, the Rangers have almost no chance if Lundqvist is out for the series.
To me,any tied game in the playoffs that reaches OT is exciting. Doesn't matter who is playing. I have been a goalie for as long as I can remember from way back in grade school through highschool and even now when I play in the old guy league. I don't mind a low scoring game at all, gotta go for the shutout :)

mya u keep bringing up numbers and winrates and shit and ignoring the context behind them
seagull played on a LOT of teams where he was basically the hard carry (besides alexwut/dummy/pure/ruwin/justin)
u can make playoffs pretty easily with 2/3 decent players
to do well in them u need 5/6
tf2 is a team game
im sure if u replace seagull with any other player on those teams u half their wins
I never said I ignored anything and I agree with you. Obviously they are huge factors and more important than raw numbers. What I did say was that there is a place in the discussion for raw numbers and winning does matter.
AoshimaObviously I'm biased as fuck, but I think that some of the Aussies deserve being mentioned, especially since Immunity managed to hang pretty well with NA and EU at the i series events.
Yuki is a brilliant pocket and I think he outplayed all the other pockets at i55, and termo was insane on demo as well.
But hey opinion and conjecture.
Yuki was undoubtedly the best soldier at i55. Others came close but he was clearly on another level at that LAN.
IMO it is hard to include Aussie players in this discussion because the number of truly high level players in AU has always been far below NA and EU.
MaxHaxTo me the best is a 3 way tie, just based on what they can do.
Seagull, B4nny, And Kaidus.
They just do things that seem seem impossible with ease.
Honorable mentions, again imo, Clockwork, Platinum, YZ50
Seagull is one of my favorite players to have watched. He was exiting and I learned many things watching his POV's but to keep "the best" topic from being a simple popularity contest I feel you really need to include raw numbers and how much a player actually "wins". While numbers are not the whole factor they do play a part to a degree.
That said, Seagull has among the "worst" career numbers of any player to have over 100 matches in invite. A 57% win rate is quite low for a player of his stature but it is important to note that 28 losses were at LAN's. Winning in playoffs is , to me, a huge factor.
Is he one of the best, if not the best roamer of all time? Arguably yes, but not the best player.
Kanecozheepdummy invented demoman
m8 I think you misspelt ryb
I believe DESTRO predates just about every notable demoman you can list so if anyone defined playing demo at the highest levels, it would be him IMO.
After compiling all the stats for the TF2 database, 2 specific players caught my attention more than the most obvious players like b4nny, cyzer, plat, etc.
Ruwin is one of the most well known scouts/players in TF2 but only played a total of 100 matches in his whole career. During that time, he had a 78% win rate and put up 2 championships. If only Ruwin had played more, things may have been a LOT different when talking about "b4nny teams" dominating the scene.
Second is PYYOUR who also had a crazy 72% win rate over the course of 139 matches. 2 Championships in 7 playoff appearances but stopped playing at Season 14. Another player I think would have had a huge impact of the b4nny team dynasty.
Turinto mason ploxo and clock (cba to waste space with quotes):
I think there might have been more skilled players than b4nny but the only measurable thing really is wins. That gives this title to b4nny.
I personally think platinum was more skilled given his ability to be so great while playing so little like you say mason but like unfortunately b4nny was in a better lifestage to play the game than platinum (careerwise).
I am not so sure about that. b4nny and Platinum played against each other since Season 6 through Season 17. Both were competing during the best and most overall skillful times of TF2 invite so "playing so little" is kinda strange label to give Platinum. I understand he works and is/was an adult for many seasons but both still played a lot of TF2.
After doing a comparison of all b4nny vs Platinum matches:
72 matches played since Season 6
b4nny has 49 wins compared to Platinum 23 wins
33 of b4nny's 49 wins were in LAN/Playoff settings compared to 16 of 23 for Platinum
I realize these are team games but from a strict 1v1 standpoint, the stats don't lie and they are solidly in b4nny's favor especially considering all the playoff/LAN wins.
Raw ESEA stats alone, b4nny outshines his nearest competition in mostly every category. Still amazing that he only has 66 losses in 16 Invite Seasons. http://tf2db.github.io/tf2database/
Add in iSeries successes and other random tournaments I don't see how any other player has been better at winning in TF2.
WilsonerkstonWilsonThe Flyers are made up of a bunch of goons, even though its not as bad as it was a few years ago they are definitely still goons.
rofl what
your team literally just played TOM SESTITO who got 17 PIM in 8 min ice time, but the flyers have the goons OK FRIEND
That was the second maybe third game hes played all season, and the only reason he played was because we were resting players and they had to be replaced by someone for one game. Those 17 PIM were all at the same time and 5 were for fighting, 10 for a misconduct.
I thought it was funny when he hit White cause he's even uglier than Scott Hartnell was as a Flyer.
Your hate is refreshing and enjoyable. We should come back to this conversation after the first round. My guess is that when you lose to the Rangers, you are going to say "if only we had Fleury/Malkin/etc".
Extremely sad to hear about Ed Snider. I met the man 2 times in the luxury seating booths at Flyers games. 1 time in the Spectrum like 15 years ago and the other in the Wells Fargo Center not that long ago. Both meetings he took the time to shake the hand of everyone in our party and talk with us. Was a really down to earth individual and had an amazing passion for the Flyers and hockey in general. A huge loss for the whole league.
Wouldn't it turn out to be one of the greatest sports stories in Philadelphia history if the underdog Flyers were able to being home a cup for Ed. Gives me chills just thinking about it coming true. RIP Snyder
valkerithe stars looked really good this season, hoping to at least see them in the finals
Agreed, I predict the path for the cup will go through Dallas this season.
Let us also not forget the Philadelphia Flyers Ice Girls. One of the best reasons to have tickets along the ice.
