This hud looks so great, I can't wait to use it again. Just let me know when it's got the other aspect ratios good to go. Also, if there's anything specific to Mac, I would love it if you made a Mac compatible version.

I thought this was a headline of an article, and Overwatch had come out early with incredible matchmaking, and TF2 was getting bashed because it still hasn't come out with MM.
I just got the email from him. Turns out the "bank" won't actually give me money until I send the tracking info for the item. Meaning I wouldn't get cash until I've shipped the laptop. Definitely a scam.
Alright, that's kinda what I thought. But how does he expect to scam me? I mean if he actually sends the money to the bank, then I'll walk out of there with cash...
What exactly is he trying to do? Send monopoly money and hope I don't notice? As long as I don't ship anything until I have cash, there's no real way he can actually scam me, right?
So I'm selling my gaming laptop on craigslist up here in Alaska. I get a text message from a guy in California. I'm used to lots of scam texts, and this one seems a little suspicious to me. He offered to pay the price I asked + 175 for shipping/insurance, and said he's used to ordering things from around the country, he just googles and looks for deals. I told him I'm not comfortable sending out the laptop unless I have cash in hand, because I've heard stories of checks and paypal and stuff getting retracted after people sent off the item. He said he's cool with that and trusts me, and is gonna set something up with his bank, Western Union. Basically, I'm supposed to get an email giving me instructions to go pick up the cash from the Western Union here in Anchorage, and once I have that cash, I'll ship out the computer.
What do you think, is this fishy? To me it seems like I'm assuming no risk, he's the one taking it all (which is partially why it seems so fishy). I'm certainly happy to ship it off to wherever if I have the cash in hand, this whole thing just seems a little odd.
EDIT: Turns out the "bank" won't actually give me money until I send the tracking info for the item. Meaning I wouldn't get cash until I've shipped the laptop. Definitely a scam.
fatswimdudeI would love nothing more than an MGE channel reboot hosting sessions of strats or quick tips made for a wide range of skill levels, but it seems a little hard to fit that kind of stuff into a cast downtime (at least IMHO).
It doesn't have to be difficult though. A rollout video takes just a few seconds to show the rollout from POV, and then maybe another minute or less to show from different angles with a quick voiceover explaining any intricacies or reasons for using the rollout (i.e. end up with more health or something). Same thing for a rollout from a forward spawn. For example, a lot of newbies are probably going to be really inefficient getting from the first forward spawn on badlands to the other team's spire (if that's where the fighting is happening). If there was a quick video showing them to jump to diagonal, then to balcony, then a skip jump off of train into house to pick up the health pack (or into choke if they want to meet up with the combo for heals) or something along those lines, that would be beneficial. Rather than the new players simply jumping along diagonal, walking through their house to pick up the pack, then jumping across mid to the other house to pick up the other pack (which isn't really necessary to get both packs, and is slower overall).
And maybe an explanation saying something like "if you are running gunboats and respawn with your demo or pocket, make sure to leave them the health packs as you both roll out to the fight, because they take more damage from jumping", or things like that.
There's also the efficient way for scout to get to battlements from the second forward spawn, jumping from mid to the railing on balcony, to diagonal, and then the jump through drop down. For newbies, that won't be easy or obvious to do, and is a simple thing to show in a video.
So I was watching a stream of the Pokemon World Championships, and I noticed something really cool that they did during breaks between games. They would play short tutorial clips, giving general advice and explaining things that might be less-than-obvious. They were quick and very informative.
I think this would be a really cool thing to add to streams of comp tf2 matches. Between rounds or games, while the casters are taking a break and the players are waiting to ready up, instead of just playing music and showing montages in the background, we could play a quick clip with some basic tutorials. It could range from "how to rocket jump" to "one method of pushing badlands last". Anything that could be done in a video a few minutes long or less, that would help new players just watching comp for the first time, understand the game better. Maybe something explaining the various roles of the classes (pocket, roamer, the combo, the flank, etc).
Just a thought, figured it'd be a great way to help new players get into comp.
Edit: A few more ideas: common places to check/place sticky traps, usefulness of various unlocks, rollouts, rocket jumping paths to get you efficiently from a respawn up to the next cp (useful for efficiently getting back into the fight when you respawn), good spam angles (like the ones Seagull showed on badlands battlements), any common strategies like the basics of how a double soldier bomb at mid would go
SideshowWhat's it like playing on that? Fps on average?
It plays beautifully for me, I haven't had a single issue. I'm assuming you're talking about tf2, in which case I don't know the true average because I always leave the fps capped at 121, and it has never dipped below that as far as I have noticed. I'll see if I can get a better number for you tonight or something. Probably the most taxing game I've played is a VERY heavily modded skyrim with and ENB and lots of texture mods. Loaded on the SSD the loading times were fine, and the fps was probably 30-40 on average, occasionally dipping into the 20s.
HallowCan you connect it to a 120hz monitor? (and have it produce 120hz obviously)
I don't know the answer to that because I don't have a monitor to try it with. If there's a way for me to check on the computer, I can look for you. Otherwise your guess is as good as mine.
I've updated the OP with the specs and pictures in case anyone here is interested. Despite what some people say, this community has some cool peeps in it, so I'd love to see this laptop go into one of their hands.
ObiKijiji is sketchy as fuck. I've heard mixed reviews of Craigslist/EBay.
If you're a student in college there are usually exchange programs that you can do with other students. It narrows the demographic, but there will definitely be a lot of students interested.
E: idk the rules about selling it on here, but if you post some pics I might be interested
I've sold a deathadder to someone on tf.tv before, so I think it's okay. Pics are uploading now, I'll update the OP. If you are interested, PM me on here or add me on steam.
Off the top of my head the specs are:
Gigabyte P37x gaming laptop with 17" screen
i7 @ 2.3 GHz
Nvidia GTX 970m (I think 4GB of VRAM)
8GB RAM
128 GB SSD
1 TB HDD
I'm not set on the price yet. I payed ~$1400 for it new, but it was on sale on Newegg, down from $1600 I think. It's very lightly used, I've only had it for about two months. I don't really have a good feel for what a fair price is, but I was thinking somewhere around $1000?
So I'm going to be upgrading to an actual desktop very soon, and I know I am not going to use the gaming laptop I have anymore. I would like to sell it to help fund the PC build, but I'm not sure the best way to go about getting money for it. I don't think there are a lot of gaming enthusiasts where I live, so selling it on Craigslist might be tough. The only other thing I can think of, is I heard that Best Buy will buy back old laptops and stuff.
Anyone know of a good (and reliable) way to sell a good gaming laptop?
EDIT: Here are some pictures and specs
Gigabyte P37x gaming laptop with 17" screen
i7 @ 2.60 GHz
Nvidia GTX 970m w/ 6GB VRAM
8GB RAM
128 GB SSD
1 TB HDD
I'm looking for $1000 + shipping
EXC0rocketjumping is broken, rocket push has zero little falloff and you can be really far away from your rocket. 27 hopping is full rocketjump distance. Pogo has auto upward momentum; ctaps, speedshots, and static jumps are now removed from the game.
Any idea if they intentionally did this? I wonder if it will get fixed.
The store is down for everyone else right? Did those who got campaign thingy's just buy them before it crashed?
wonderlandjumping is extremely broken
What is broken about it? I haven't tested anything yet, but I don't remember seeing anything in the update that might break it.
