#2 Screwball Scramble LF IM/High Open Pocket/Scout in Recruitment (looking for team)

These guys are gonna be really really good next season, don't pass up the chance to play with them.

Beware though, Rill will ditch you to go eat pancakes.

I'll be there next time.

#13 So what about it? in TF2 General Discussion

The only annoying thing about the charge is when I about to kill a demo, and he uses it to charge into me, causing me to miss my shot, and usually means I die. But less stickies is a good thing if you ask me.

That's good to know. I don't have any real problem with being able to put your fov at whatever you want, as long as you can't exploit things like that. I also don't see what the big fuss is with transparent viewmodels.

I don't know why all those ridiculous unlocks are allowed. They're fun and stuff, but go troll people in a pub, please, instead of the DM servers where people are actually trying to improve.

That's the video I was talking about. So can you turn your fov up that high if you want to? It only keeps you from changing it so you can't have a 'wallhack' setting for your fov and your normal fov?

What #6 and #7 said. If I ignore him, he gets free shots and makes it more difficult for me to practice my DM against scouts/soldiers/demos (which is why I'm in a DM server) because I randomly take 50-150 damage during a fight which generally ends that fight.

My only other choice is to constantly jump him, which as I said before, is not what I want to be practicing in a DM server. Not to mention you have to be sneaky about how you jump them, or do a double jump, because once they see you coming they will either no scope body shot you as you fly towards them (stopping your jump and that usually means you get cleaned up by someone else) or they can surf your rocket/run away somewhere else. That's just wasting my time because I'm chasing a sniper so he doesn't get free damage, and his time, because he's running away in a server with no respawn cause he's scared of dying, instead of just shooting at people.

I can understand if you only want to play one class, but that class is taken. But if map change after map change you are still going sniper, just go pub, please. Or go to a sniper vs sniper server, or mge vs another sniper. All of those are just as good practice for you, and they don't waste the time of all the people in the DM servers.

And if any servers like the one botmode described already exist, please point me in that direction because I would love to play in those instead.

I think the difference between those two is shadows only work on certain walls (still probably unfair, and I wouldn't complain if they were disabled for official matches 'n stuff), so you can actively avoid those hiding spots/walls.

With the FOV plugin (from what I remember when seeing some video about it) is that it works with every corner, and with all thin walls. It's a lot more difficult to avoid corners and those walls than it is to avoid the spots that show shadows.

Also, am I the only one who gets annoyed by people constantly going sniper in DM? I want to practice fighting things, not jumping after snipers (who generally just try to surf rockets and run away to health packs, which is a waste of everyone's time). If I wanted to practice jumping, I'd be in a jump map...

I heard some DM servers already had a plugin available to limit demos to 2 stickies per clip. Is that gonna be used in the extv and tf.tv ones or not?

Can't you use a certain FOV plugin to effectively see around walls/sharp corners? Wouldn't that be a pretty big advantage?

But if you were to even watch the euro soldiers, the roamers take a lot of heals, even at the highest levels. It seems like that's sort of the way it has to be played, because if you're coming from spawn to your team, you'll most likely show up with like 120 health (even if you pick up health packs). Whereas w/ gunboats you can arrive at full health, and usually faster too.

#4 Pyro LFT Steel/Silver HL in Recruitment (looking for team)

While this site is for all of tf2, it's only UGC (well, and I guess ETF2L) that have highlander leagues. Because of that, the UGC forums are much better for recruitment for highlander teams.

Cbear, I'm with you (for the most part). A roamer that can get the job done w/ the shotty is much more impressive. However I just find you can't be as creative if you lose a minimum of 20% of your health every time you rocket jump, it just doesn't lend itself to those spontaneous and random plays that roamers with gunboats can make to shake things up and create openings for your team.

Maybe I'm doing it wrong, but whenever I play shotty roamer, I feel as if I'm relegated to bullying the flank and just getting picks there, which, while it's effective, it's much less fun to play that way.

That zalman mic is great. Good quality, cheap, and easy to bring with you wherever.
