#2 Need a roamer and a demo (ESEA) in Recruitment (looking for team)

This team is pretty sweet, definitely try out if you don't already have a team for some reason!

#208 Pre-season highlander gossip in TF2 General Discussion

We just need a scout for platinum. There's tons of great scouts in the game, but we need one that would be able to make ~2-3 scrims a week plus monday night matches. I know a lot of scouts can't do that because of esea, but if you think you can swing it, definitely add me.

Went to a party and my black jacket doesn't fit me anymore. Too big. So I went with the gray one and looked like sherlock holmes.

Shoulda worn the hat and pipe too.

#40 Running shotgun as roamer. in Q/A Help

I've watched demos of a lot of roamers, and the only one in recent memory is that Dave__AC ran 'boats to granary mid, then shotty almost full time after that.

And Slin, if we successfully defended last, I can always just run back into spawn and change to gunboats. And it's really not that slow to get to second w/ shotty anyways. I might need more heals once I'm there, but I can get there just as fast.

#3 Running shotgun as roamer. in Q/A Help

I think it's a great tool for a lot of last pushes/holds (i.e. badlands) because there's just not a whole lot of jumping to be done, so you might as well have the extra damage output.

#52 So what about it? in TF2 General Discussion

Yes, I think we've all said this. Sniping in DM is good for the sniper (until everyone starts bombing the hell out of him), but a waste of time for everyone else in the server, and those waiting to get into the server. The sniper can get pretty much the same practice in a pub, sniper vs. sniper servers, or even mge. All of those things do not waste other people's time.

BenkPersonally I play sniper when scout is full because I don't care to improve my soldier or demo DM since I don't play those classes. It actually annoys me quite a bit when soldiers or scouts go out of their way to kill a sniper in DM. You gain nothing out of the easy kill and the sniper isn't gaining anything by being constantly bombed.

I can understand you not wanting to work on demo or soldier, so you snipe if scout is full. It's the people that go to DM servers for the sole purpose of playing sniper. And I think you just said it yourself why sniper is dumb, "You gain nothing out of the easy kill and the sniper isn't gaining anything by being constantly bombed." It's a lose-lose situation, so why would anyone go sniper in DM?

And Unff, I would be totally fine with not limiting the demo's stickies, but only if the admins were active enough to kick the players that lay down carpet traps, and just spam them at completely unaware players non-stop. If you are using them to actually fight people, then I'd be okay with a demo having all 8. The problem is none of the admins seem to be around to deal with the players that are abusing it, so limiting demo to 2 or 3 stickies would be an easier solution.

As for the Targe, Clockwork nailed it. It's dumb when a demo can absorb so much damage, then just charge away towards a health pack while spamming pipes. If you only want to practice your pipes, then use sticky jumper so that you can still jump up to places (Gpit roof, process crates, granary crates, etc.), but you can only do damage w/ pipes. Saying that the targe gives you "more time to practice pipes" is stupid when it's SOAP DM and there are no respawns.

kirbySnipers don't ruin your scrim experience, especially when your team is running one, right?

Difference there is that in scrims I know where the sniper is looking, and can avoid his line of sight (and if I don't know where he's looking, then he's doing a good job of being sneaky or my team has bad comms). In DM he can be anywhere and gets free shots all the time.

I agree with you on the other stuff though.
