Also, am I the only one who gets annoyed by people constantly going sniper in DM? I want to practice fighting things, not jumping after snipers (who generally just try to surf rockets and run away to health packs, which is a waste of everyone's time). If I wanted to practice jumping, I'd be in a jump map...

i still think charge n targe should be banned, yes i know its legal in ESEA but its never ran in matches so its pretty much useless in DM (unless you're solidsnake a few seasons ago)

Just go pubbing if you want to snipe. Sniping only helps the snipers DM as you either don't focus him and he gets to shoot you freely or you do and he's dead 90% of the time. Sniper ruins DM servers.

You don't have to, but then you have to deal with random damage to you every so often when you're trying to kill something else. Generally, it should be the purpose of everyone in the server to make the sniper's time miserable so that they play it less. Letting somebody shoot at you for free is dumb.

What #6 and #7 said. If I ignore him, he gets free shots and makes it more difficult for me to practice my DM against scouts/soldiers/demos (which is why I'm in a DM server) because I randomly take 50-150 damage during a fight which generally ends that fight.

My only other choice is to constantly jump him, which as I said before, is not what I want to be practicing in a DM server. Not to mention you have to be sneaky about how you jump them, or do a double jump, because once they see you coming they will either no scope body shot you as you fly towards them (stopping your jump and that usually means you get cleaned up by someone else) or they can surf your rocket/run away somewhere else. That's just wasting my time because I'm chasing a sniper so he doesn't get free damage, and his time, because he's running away in a server with no respawn cause he's scared of dying, instead of just shooting at people.

I can understand if you only want to play one class, but that class is taken. But if map change after map change you are still going sniper, just go pub, please. Or go to a sniper vs sniper server, or mge vs another sniper. All of those are just as good practice for you, and they don't waste the time of all the people in the DM servers.

And if any servers like the one botmode described already exist, please point me in that direction because I would love to play in those instead.

I don't know why all those ridiculous unlocks are allowed. They're fun and stuff, but go troll people in a pub, please, instead of the DM servers where people are actually trying to improve.

Targe is useful in DM for the explosive resistance, and practice pipes. It also means no stickies[/b]

The only annoying thing about the charge is when I about to kill a demo, and he uses it to charge into me, causing me to miss my shot, and usually means I die. But less stickies is a good thing if you ask me.

They're as good as DM. Just play scout on DM, sniper aim comes automatically with it.

every time someone goes sniper just make his life miserable for the next 10 minutes and if he complains remind him that he is the DM equivalent of the taliban

but in a perfect world where snipers didn't exist, wasting that much time not-dming wouldn't be necessary

PLEASE ban the demo shields. Every time I'm there I see one or two demos using it with the Loch-N-Load and it's pretty dumb.

I'm sorry, but a sniper isn't ruining anyone's DM experience. If I remember correctly, and please correct me if I'm wrong, but DM servers were made to improve your DM and is often used for warming up. So how exactly is that being ruined?

Snipers don't ruin your scrim experience, especially when your team is running one, right?

What is ruining DM are impractical weapons/items being allowed and carpet bombing demos. And why isn't there a plugin to give you HP on assists? If you're going to have it where players regain most/all of their HP when they get a kill, then make something so that they gain half of their health or whatever when they get an assist.

Nothing's worse than trying to DM against some guy and have some random person steal your kill and leave you to practically die.

Difference there is that in scrims I know where the sniper is looking, and can avoid his line of sight (and if I don't know where he's looking, then he's doing a good job of being sneaky or my team has bad comms). In DM he can be anywhere and gets free shots all the time.

seeing as how youre one of the soldiers who never gets off the badlands train OR the gran/process crates unless youre bombing somebody who isnt looking at you i fail to see what good you playing dm does anyway

dh is perfectly fine in my opinion due to the fact that it has different damage based off of range but with lnl you can basically 1 shot scouts from across the map
also people were really mad last time it got banned cause they've been using it in dm servers for years

i really dont see the reason of getting mad at what people do in DM. Maybe people look at DM differently than i do, but i go to shoot things, no matter who they are / what they use.
