#5 Gmang's Closed Captions in Q/A Help

Okay, so I used the tf2captions that was linked in #4, and it works great except for one issue... I tried to tweak and edit the closecaption_english.txt, and none of the changes seem to have taken effect. I wanted to get rid of some of the messages, and change colors of some of the others, but it's still not changing in game. Any idea how to actually change those things?

I restarted tf2, tried exec autoexec, hud_reloadscheme...

Yeah, I've seen Plat use it. It basically gives you on screen messages for various things happening within the game. I think some of it would be pretty cool to have, but I like my current hud, so I'm just trying to figure out how to edit those messages so the ones I want show up in my hud.

#1 Gmang's Closed Captions in Q/A Help

I want to integrate the closed caption thing that I've seen used w/ Gmang hud. Is it just stock? Or is it a particular thing Gmang added? If he added it, what file is it in so I can add it to another hud?

#26 Updated huds? in TF2 General Discussion

I just took out my resource and script files for KNHUD, fired up tf2, then put them back in and restarted tf2. It works just like it did before.

Edit: I guess I haven't tried it in MvM, but it at least works in normal tf2.

Should you really limit the fps to 120 if you only have a 60Hz monitor? What happens if you don't?

You can definitely get good with the shittiest gear. But if you get a nice comp that runs the game at 120fps constant, a good mouse and keyboard, you will most likely notice a difference, and your game will most likely improve.

There may have been a point where having that rule served a good purpose. But I think it's about time it's gone.

SalamancerAccountant for an oil company. Will not say which one or anything more specific, as I don't want to get in trouble at all.

Ahhhh, so you're slowly embezzling millions? Sal, you clever dog.

#34 Ask Sal a question in Q/A Help
SalamancerDoesn't it say my email on my youtube channel?

And no, I cast the longer games because the closer they are, the more eXciting. Usually. Adjustments to the format would be necessary for short games to be eXciting. Currently, short games are pretty much rolls.

Ah, indeed it does. I am apparently blind.

#32 Ask Sal a question in Q/A Help
Salamancer#26 I've tried to make it as clear as possible in as many places as possible, but I don't take demos from friends list. All STV demos I consider for casting are emailed to Salamancer.TV@Gmail.com. As far as why my list is constantly full, take a wild guess.

I apologize, I looked around and couldn't find anything giving an email of where to send demos to. And that question about why your friends list is full was rhetorical, it's obviously full because you whacked yourself in the head w/ a frying pan and put it on youtube.

You say tf2 is not as welcoming for others to watch because the games last so long, does that mean you are less likely (or less willing) to cast the longer games?

Why is your friends list full? I have a wonderful highlander match for you to cast, full of invite players, double airshots, uber pops and uber drops, and it's a bit of a nail-biter.
