Thankful my computer finally works. So happy I'll be able to play again.

There are a few things I know from experience that aren't quite 100% accurate in this of the history, but the article is good and I'm glad to see that these are being made.
I like how much soap is mentioning me in the comments as a comparison even though I don't play anymore.
I'm excited to see some of the outcomes of this year. I'm personally pulling for mTs this year to win, but funny enough I'm also really excited about Mustardoverlord's team. Good writeup!

Mongolian style, that's ingenious!
I actually recently tried to switch over to that style. It was really taxing on my left hand, as I had to support the weight of the controller basically with one hand. I eventually would either rest it on my knee or I would disable and bite the other joystick and hold the weight with my mouth.
Also switching weapons was really confusing.
What a shame, I really wanted to play as medic next season and run quick fix a lot. Oh well, I get why it had to be done. At least you made the ruling really quickly after the outcry.
brownymasterTMPI wrote my first file purely through console in linux. It made me feel really happy.echo "Hello world!" > file or did you use vim/emacs?
Used vim. Was really basic but I felt like it's a decent thing to know how to do.

I always liked the origin of my name, mostly because it stems from a player I now deeply respect.
TMP was initially an abbreviation for The Magic Potato. TF2, Frozen Synapse, and I think Quake are the only games that I have gone by TMP in. The story starts out on a game development website, when someone said the art for the characters in a game that I am perpetually delaying looked like potatoes. For some reason, I really liked this and started going by Potato in games where I could change my name. Namely, I was just starting TF2 around this time.
One day, back when I was terrible at the game, I had an ok day on sniper. But to me, I thought I was doing really good. In excitement, I figured I should be something different. Magic, perhaps. The Magic Potato was what I was. And the name was born.
I went by that name for quite some time, joining the voogru community and quitting it, and starting out competitive in TWL 5v5 Fast Attack back in 2009(?). Then, I saw a frag video that I have no idea what the name of it is to this day. All I know is that it was right around the time I started playing comp-ish modes. It starred enigma. But during certain segments, he went by e. I was impressed, and I wanted to emulate him to a degree. So I took a step towards that and shrunk my name. I became TMP.
Nowadays, the name doesn't really have the meaning it used to. But I don't mind. It's very flexible, and I like that.
First time I did competitive was TWL 5v5 Fast Attack. I remember doing early comp stuff with people like Gypsy Davey, SuperXlax, and Jesus. I remember also pugging at TF2F and specifically [GGG] as being the big rivals I had way back in the day.
I just participated in something like this, a 5 ban on each side system.
Bans:
RED: vitasaw, pomson, l'etranger, wrangler, flare
BLU: gunslinger, gru, dead ringer, sydney sleeper, razorback
I was on BLU.
I assume I was a victim of a targeted ban with the flare, but it had very little impact on the game anyways. I made a point to my captain to not ban phlogistinator, as I felt I could use it better than the enemy pyro.
The real note is that it didn't play that differently, aside from engineers not being a factor for the most part. The enemy soldier at a time used the Beggar's Bazooka, but he wasn't really skilled with it to the point where he could frag anything with it. Phlogistinator was used by both pyros at some point, although I used it less than the enemy pyro. I thought it was kind of fun to have the phlogistinator in, but then again I was using it. I didn't really faceroll the enemy team with it like I had wanted to, but I did wipe the combo with it while ubered.
I liked it overall. I'll probably try to do more of them in the future. I'd really enjoy this kind of system for just playing to relax as well. It's got a bit more interesting of a feel to it than just a whitelist does.
EDIT: Oh yeah soda popper was also really strong in the pug environment, forgot about that.
iirc this has to do with the normal textures of the texture not being rendered? Not sure. It may also be ssbump, not sure. But basically one of the modifying shaders on the texture isn't being rendered. I think this is due to fps configs. I'm pretty sure this isn't originally a mapper's error, as I remember the textures being pretty clear in glacier originally, and the textures haven't been unpacked from the bsp(The map shown).
EDIT: It's not the normal, it's the bumpmap! I should have known. If you want to fix this, mat_bumpmap 1 will fix it.
As a TF2 player and spectator, thanks for all you've done for the community.
As a person, thanks for buying me that sandwich that one time at that barcraft.
Good luck in life!

I don't ever remember calling you bad, but if I specifically did, I'm sorry about that. I don't remember it, I call a lot of people bad, myself the most.
