Sideshowtonythetigerjust to ruin sideshow's insider knowledge: its gonna be 2 maps on NY servers and 1 on a euro server
We haven't fully decided yet, but that's a strong possibility - we'll release the final information BEFORE the match begins so that it's not random saloon betting though. As much as I'd like to farm all those tasty skins for myself.
any news?
CHERRYTeapot_Exactly.CHERRYtonythetigerseems like a strange game to have bets on since whoever has the server advantage should winYou switch, right?
What normally happens is both teams will win the map on their local server to make it 1-1 and then the server for the deciding game is chosen by a coinflip or smth of that sort.
His point still stands though. Whichever team plays the deciding map on their server will more than likely win. From a betting perspective not knowing which server is going to be used for the 3rd map amost makes it just a bet for whether it's going to be played on an american or european server.
Not much you can do about it and it is necessary for getting more viewers and attention to the cast/fundraiser so it is what it is.
when I think of dave grohl I always first remember his nirvana days and was kinda surprised to hear a drummer playing with a broken leg..

I think what they want to do is to have completely new players to competetive to play in the regular free lobbies and the people who have been playing previously who have varying amounts of experience to play in the advanced lobbies. If you look at it that way it's not really competing with tf2pickup/pugme doublemixes etc. just that you now have to pay for a slightly better lobby experience.
It's just the first couple of minutes that have no audio (after the sections with muted music). Otherwise there is audio for the full match.
That shouldn't matter. I don't care how much better my opponents are than me, I'm always going to go into a game trying to do my best, make it as close as I can and if they really are that much better than me, hopefully I'll learn something along the way. If I'm going in with a losing mentality I might as well just forfeit, maybe other people see it differently and can still give it their all while expecting to lose but I don't see how.
if you bet on yourself to lose that means you're going into a match fully expecting to lose. I don't see how that has any place in a competetive environment.
I used to think competetive tf2 started and ended with tf2lobby back in my pubbing days.
