#64 Making Pyro More Enjoyable for Everyone in TF2 General Discussion

The Class is pretty much a giant gimmick of crits, easily applied movement stalling, baindaid unlocks and "free" damage from vaguely looking at someone. That's literally a plethora of unenjoyable mechanics, and it's all combined into one class. I'd honestly just start over with the class entirely. Pretty much remove everything it currently has and turn it into a proper flanking/combo class that doesn't heavily rely on unlocks to be relevant.

Address those band-aid "gimmicks", and keep the mechanics of the current sickburn airblast (remove the charging requirement. Seems unnecessary).

#1 LFT Demo Low Open in Recruitment (looking for team)

I'm looking for a Low OPEN team for ESEA as Demo. I'm really interested in improving my overall game and am looking for a team that is serious about improving and learning from their mistakes/overall gameplay. My schedule is very flexible (I'm available 24/7 on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and weekends), and I'm willing to scrim/pug and hopefully have some fun. I backed up for an ESEA Team last season called FastCo. but it was pretty disappointing since I really didn't get to play much at all and I want to get my feet wet in ESEA instead of spectate on the sidelines.

I'm fine with CEVO btw.

Competitive Experience

UGC Steel Season 13, Fast Company
ESEA Open Season 17, Fast Company(BACKUP)
Recent CEVO Season OPEN Ol' Peeps

My Steam Profile
It's an alt(now my main). I have a little above 2000hrs on this game

#1 Where can I find an active PUG group/site in Q/A Help

I've checked out atf2.org and went to the TF2mix channel but it wasn't that active (either it wasn't active or it was a massive user error on my part)

I would use TF2pickup.net but I'm NA (Has anyone NA actually tried it?)

Thanks in advanced!

#136 TF2 update for 6/23/14 (6/24/14 UTC) in TF2 General Discussion
prestigeTendaMonstar4ptureI liked the nerf only because it reminded me the ScotRes exist. Viable? Not compared to the stock. Fun? Oh fuck yes.Fun fact:
ScoRes was more viable with it's release stats

didnt they only buff the ScoRes? faster firing and made it det a little faster

They also gave it the retarded downside of .8seconds (it was .4 before) which kills any sort of offensive ability, and stickies didn't detonate beneath your feet when you detonated a sticky across the map.

Imagine being able to lay down a carpet of stickies that you could walk all over with no fear while still retaining the ability to at least do mediocre airbursting and get ok damage from it.

Oh and the viewmodel actually looked sexy when it was released

#1139 MAJOR TF2 update for 6/18/14 (6/19/14, Love & War) in TF2 General Discussion
choochooTendaMonstashampooconditionerhey demo mains can m1 m2 again lmaoWe could pretty much do that with nerfed stickies (they just didn't do an ass load of damage).
which was the point of the nerf. 100+ aoe damage twice per second is retarded, but i guess the tf2 community won't rest until demo is the only good class in the game.

Here's the problem with that statement.
Do you have any idea how stickies work?
At mid range the max a sticky could do was 80(90maybe)
It takes .92seconds to arm so I don't see how it could do 100+ damage 2x a second

The only time stickies would deal 100+ was when you were encroaching him at closer ranges (which has never made any sense to me. Let's just make a class weak in close range deal more damage and potentially one shot light classes).

If you were specifically talking about traps then my bad.
I'm all for a nerf but I don't think the nerf was well thought out.

I really like the idea of putting an emphasis on the charging mechnaic.
It makes sense that uncharged stickies/close range stickies deal less damage while mid-ish-long range deal decent damage.

Somewhat punishes "brain-less" while rewarding more charging and precision.

#8 Roamer LFT Low-Mid Open in Recruitment (looking for team)

Great player.
Solid DM
Accepts criticism very well and is always looking to improve
Very good comms. IMO

Overall a player that you'd want on your team. Pick him up.

Forsak3n"competitive is boring, lets make some class have less possibilities..."

I'm pretty sure more people are actually experimenting with shields and the SR(still not that good) so I don't think this statement holds it's water.

eXupGreets,

Someone in mumble mentioned Platinum used Scottish Resistance in his match last night. Would love to see that game, is their any recording or demo available anywhere you could point me.

Thanks, K

Has anyone tried the Scottish Resistance out now in a pug/lobby/etc with stock nerfed? Is it now a viable alternative or do you still think it's going to go unloved?

r4ptureAntaresStickies are incredibly versatile, but are designed primarily for traps. It's been stated by the devs. and regurgitated by others that's it's a duel purpose weapon. Nothing the devs. have said stated that it was primarily for traps.

"Mindless M1 + M2" spam is literally the same. You just don't get rewarded as much.

TendaMonstaI don't think they actually modified it's base damage. If they didn't change it's base damage then the wrangler is fine (and by fine I mean retarded, but not to the point where it'd be banned in HL).

I'm completely wrong here guys...Apparently valve thought it was a good idea to modify how stickies deal damage to buildings.

keepertonTwitchRegarding the ScoRes: is it even affected by the arm time ramp up? I don't mean "it takes longer to arm," but does it have that mechanic built into it now too? I think it's pretty important to remember that the thing shoots stickies out faster too. Not arguing that it's the new meta, but I'd be interested to see people experiment with it in the new environment.
All stickies are effected by this change, but keep in mind with the ScoRes it hardly matters because of the extended arm time. Although I'm poor at theory crafting I can't really see the ScoRes being that useful (yes it's that bad) mostly because it's so damn easy to dodge and what good is all that blue if you can barely do anything worth while because of it's sole downside. Seems like it's supposed to be better defensively but I don't really think that's the case at all.

I'd rather get some damage than no damage until someone runs into a stickytrap.
