alfaPlat and harb calling b4nny the forbidden word at LAN across the venue, while sitting right next to the csgo casters and BenQ sponsor behind them. They won a double bo3 grandfinal afterwards (which no one ever replicated again). Wild times we lived in.
Actually, Mixup replicated themselves when they won against b4nny / iT during S15 LAN with the double BO3 reset. Funnily enough it was both roamers that had memorable standout performances during the series - relic in S10 and A_Seagull in S15.
* ESEA S8: Check Six wins LAN with an undefeated record, becoming the first team to go 19-0
- The subsequent TLR-trophy shenanigans
* i46: Classic Mixup and Leviathan Gaming represent North America on the global stage and dominate, leading to an all-American finals.
* ESEA S13: Winless Vector Gaming upsets LAN-bound Fully Torqued on Gravel Pit. One of the greatest upsets in Invite history.
* #thirdplaceb4nny
Those are the easiest ones off the top of my head.
If LAN isn't happening anytime soon (which it shouldn't) I see no reason to charge us extra.
xattuuA lot of the maps we currently play were designed, or finished being created, after the medic speed buff so that had to effect how the map was being made,a s it was the meta at the time.
This is just straight up untrue? The tether speed update came in July 2016, which was during ESEA S22. The only new map(s) that we've seen in league play since then are Clearcut (lol) and Propaganda (double lol). Also, Sunshine and Metalworks - the "newest" maps in the rotation at the time, were multiple seasons in already.
RoLwhat if med just permanently had a move speed as an average inbetween his default move speed and scout speed, or just permanent scout speed? that way meds wouldnt be encouraged to heal scouts more just to get out of fights. I like being able to move fast as medic personally.
Why the fuck should Medic get to move at Scout speed all the time? You like moving fast, but guess what else you should like? Surviving because of your positioning and mechanics. A single-digit death 30 minute game has significantly less value when you can just click Scouts and zoom away all the time.
On another note, while I agree we've had plenty of years playing the game without tether speed, it's also been a long ass time since the good ol' days and there's been plenty of player turnover at all levels. Even if a majority voted for removing tether speed, it should not be implemented for S3 as it's too soon.
Shoutouts to Abstand, joshin, pudd, forgets, and Block from Top Gluttons (Chilling in North Korea) for giving an inexperienced Medic his first true season on a team and eventually moving me to "leader." Without them I'd likely never have ignited my passion for teambuilding and leading.
Shoutouts to bsc, seymour, tooth, defiance, and vortex (Mad Men) for bringing me out of mid-Open and teaching me an unbelievable amount about higher level gameplay in such a short time before I was cut. Without them, S18 BLANC never exists and who knows how different my timeline would be.
All my teammates are awesome but these ten gamers are undoubtedly the most important in my TF2 journey.
SirPineAppleI can see why roamer would be harder in certain situations, but i dont think roamer would change in anyway if you took the medic buff away or still had it.
Before tether speed: uh oh a Soldier is bombing me I better hit a good surf to stay alive
After tether speed: haha I click on Scout go VROOM
Yeah I'm gonna need this sent over to RGL immediately, thanks.
Having played with all three of these guys, it's known that each are proven gamers and quality teammates. They are as competitive and serious as they are fun-loving and hilarious. Lord knows our game needs more teams / cores that stick around for more than a season.
Oh and JEFF is a Browns fan. That's gotta count for something right (poor kid...)?
Absolute studs, both of these men.
SasukeUchiha_TRADETFlewd is a better person than the name implies. like hes pretty cool but that name has to go bro cmon
Excellent point, SasukeUchiha_TRADETF.
Anyway, these guys are certified gamers - the very definition of up-and-comers. One does not simply defeat SIN K4RMA Alternate Demoman.
I just don't see how in a competitive game, you can look at like a 8-8 team and say "yeah their eight losses were closer than those of the 13-3 team so they deserve to be ranked higher" despite losing way more games. Like I understand when the W/L is tied or there's only a one win difference, but when the records can be that far apart and result in such wacky standings, that's the main problem.
As air said, having points come after W/L is perfect. But you play to win the game. Teams that win should be placed higher than the teams that didn't (as much).
gloperzconversely, a team that loses a match 5-4 should get no compensation at all? again consider the purpose of the regular season should be to measure the skill level of teams as accurately as possible in order to have the absolute best teams in playoffs.
Also I don't care how "good" a team claims to be, if they don't win enough games to get into playoffs then they don't deserve to be there. Speaking of, the fact they let half of all non-Invite divisions in playoffs is another problem, but that's for another time.
IM playoffs head towards their conclusion as some returning teams square off in semifinals. 60deathchallenge have been the comfortable second seed throughout the season, playing second fiddle to the 16-0 Pastel Mirage (who they barely lost to in a 4-3 Product banger). They took care of business during round 1, taking out smart boys esports team with ease. Meanwhile Nut Draggers went 11-5 during the regular season, but more importantly they were the champions of the very first NUTBOWL - a very prestigious honor indeed. Last week they upset the higher seeded micro.wav who they lost to during regular season with a convincing two map victory. The winner goes on to face Pastel Mirage in grand finals. They are the only thing standing between Pastel and perfection.
