#1 thank you guys for the support in Off Topic

I doubt many of you will know who I am here but for those of you who supported a little indian kid who played TF2 for his first time with a facecam will remember the name "The Wounded Stapler"

It's been a long time since i've visited these forums but I wanted to make this post to just thank you guys for supporting me extremely early on in my TF2 adventures, that support has motivated me to keep climbing and i'm celebrating my 50,000 subscribers on YouTube today!

You can watch the video if you want to : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qGySauvyKqU

but I mainly wanted you to join in on the god-tier unusual raffle : https://scrap.tf/raffles/HQW24U

The chances are pretty slim but I wanted to extend an invitation to at least try out your luck.

On a completely different note, I wanted to shout out Kevinispwn, alle, Aurora, and many many others who really inspired me to play TF2 when I first started, I think without tf.tv my channel wouldn't exist.

Thank you again guys, and I hope you have a fantastic day :)

#74 Pros vs. YouTubers in Events
STAR_b4nny belongs on the youtuber team tbhetherThis guy should be playing: https://www.youtube.com/user/tf2worms
and
https://www.youtube.com/user/EvilDaedalus

I know everyone has their opinion on who should play where, but to be honest I knew Retro and GlassyGaming for a while and I figured it would be a great opportunity to promote the smaller dudes on a bigger project. Hell, i'm not even that big myself but when I was around their sub count, no one gave me a big collab chance like this to get myself out there so it feels right to provide that opportunity, and knowing them is just more of an incentive to give them that opportunity.

Regardless of who plays, I just want to make sure everyone is going to have a fun time, even if that means Froyo completely rolls us haha, so it would be cool to get you guys to support the people on the teams instead of talking about whose not there or who should be there.

#21 Pros vs. YouTubers in Events

Hey everyone,

King Raja/Stapler here, I wanted to start off by thanking all of you at tf.tv for helping me get my first start on YouTube all the way early 2014. From that year to now, i've crossed great lengths and somehow managed to make a name for myself as a self proclaimed Indian king. I had always felt like I owed something back to the community for the kindness and love you showed me and the only idea I had in order to to give back is try to use all the connections I have made to popular YouTubers/comp pros over my time on YouTube and put on a fun show match and promote the crap out of tf.tv. I personally have not gotten deep into comp but I have a lot of comp friends and I love everyone's dedication to the culture of comp TF2 and I think it's going to be a great time bringing our pub audience to you guys and seeing what can be accomplished with a bigger following.

I realize that with this lineup, we are ofc missing everyone's favorite STAR_ and Jerma but these two are not accessible by most of us and i'm sure they're busy with their own projects and life. Instead, I managed to get together my friends who range from small, growing channels to one of the top TF2 content channels on YouTube. I think it's going to be a great time and I hope you guys enjoy watching YouTube vs. Froyotech, haha.

MR_SLINYou're on the Twitch team but that's independent from the sidebar. Someone removed you from the sidebar and I'm not sure why that is the case. Please give me some time to check with the moderation team. Thanks.

Thanks Slin, I appreciate it!

MR_SLINAccording to the system you're not added anymore. Maybe another moderator can comment on what happened, because I'm not sure.

Not sure what you're talking about, http://www.twitch.tv/thewoundedstapler is still on teamfortress.tv

You can see the team on the actual channel page and I test streamed and it popped up on the tf.tv feed.

#3 A Simple Request! in Off Topic
GetawhaleTwo things that jump out to me are overuse of profanity and some repetition.

Yes we all use profanity in our everyday language, most likely, but I think that needs to stay out of YouTube content. Some may disagree but it's not very professional. I'm not a prude or anything, I have a dirty mouth. But when I view YouTube content I don't think of people saying fuck over and over again as positive unless that's somehow their gimmick.

Toward the end it seems you're restating your point in the same words. Be the best you you can be! Valid point but I feel like it was said 3-4 times.

I know it's more about the message and less of the medium, but I'd also suggest you may be missing a larger point in what you were trying to communicate. It felt like you're giving this magical, almost undeserved credit to "famous" people or whatnot.. just for being who they are. "They're obviously where they are for a reason and you can never be them" (paraphrased). I think an important point is that in fact, people who are successful tend to be in that position because they worked their asses off, and perhaps had some luck along the way. They're also probably doing what they love - so there may have been a nice tie-in there to say keep doing what you love, do what your passion is, be yourself and work hard and perhaps some day you will be where these people are as well.

I think you do a good job and am sorry to hear that you did not get what you wanted with this audition. Keep at it.

Hey thanks for the taking the time to reply!

On the point of profanity, I really do need to watch myself on that. I get what you're saying with it being more professional that way, and I don't think it was really a gimmick I was going for but a bad habit from making gaming videos and streaming.

And you're completely right about me restating my point too much, I just noticed that after a couple times re watching it. It was a bit difficult for me since I did this without a script and had to just keep going, I tend to do that in discussions and I can see how it gets annoying with the repetition.

Oooh yeahh, you're right about that point on successful people. I've met so many successful and talented artists in the past couple years and it takes A LOT of dedication and courage to get to where they're at, you're right, I could've explored that aspect of the topic more and I completely agree with doing what you love and being passionate and working hard, that really is the key to success.

And it's not a big deal, there are many auditions around the area, I feel like I have a good shot at it if I work harder and consistently learn from my mistakes!

Again, thanks for taking the time to watch it and write up a critique, I really appreciate it! :D

#1 A Simple Request! in Off Topic

Hey there! I wanted to first of all wish you all a happy holiday season, and to say that i'm extremely excited to announce that I've branched out of YouTube a little bit and have ventured into the world of acting and comedy. Recently I went to an audition for a web series and they were looking for main roles to get filled, I gave them my Here's The Thing channel and luckily one of the producers really liked the voice presence in the videos but said I lacked on camera experience.

I couldn't really show him my Wounded Stapler channel due to it being mostly voice, so I made an audition tape sort of video to show my on camera presence a little bit:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9I7nHae1ANI

The video above touches on a very personal topic to me, which is not being comfortable with myself in front of an anonymous audience but I work through it with a 6 minute commentary on that topic.

Now for that simple request, guys I would REALLY appreciate it if you could critique this video by letting me know what I did wrong and what I could do to fix it (Keepin' it constructive).

And of course: PLEASE DO NOT SUBSCRIBE OR LIKE THE VIDEO, that will classify this post as an advertisement and that's not what it is because I gain absolutely no monetary compensation or anything like that, I really want to know where I lack and what I can work on!

Thank you again for taking the time to read through this, and I hope you have an awesome day! :D

m0nkeiGreat video.

Thanks m0nkei, I appreciate it!

boppetI remember when I experienced this feeling - one day I was walking from school and my phone died, so I couldn't be constantly enveloped by my technology during my walk. I was forced to take in my surroundings, I started feeling the painted walls on buildings, picking up leaves, and my mind launched into a weird state; like I just realized I had arms or something. When I arrived home, I didn't go on my computer like I usually did, I worked out first, ate, then just sat outside for an hour and a half. I started wanting to do something - I read a book next to a dogwood tree in my yard. It's kind of sad how I have to admit that spending a little time outside alone was such and experience for me; I was in complete serenity at that moment, and I've started reading outside more often.

Now, whenever I feel bored online, the first thing I think to do is immediately go outside. We need it.

I'm glad you hit that point of realization and did something unpredictable, life can get extremely tedious if you make it predictable. And i'm happy you feel that way when you get bored, the outside world is absolutely wonderful and you can gain so many opportunities by just going for a simple walk, or visiting that one place you always see but never got a chance to check out! Thanks for sharing your story :D

MasterKuni<3

Right back at ya Kuni! :D

Red_You really are a great human-being

D'aww, thanks Red! But I can't take all the credit, i've done some very stupid things and i've been fortunate enough to have an awesome family and mentors in my life who have shown me nothing but love and compassion, and I figured it's only my duty to show it back to the rest of the world, even if it's through something as small as a YouTube video! :D

leakyhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HdqVF7-8wng

Haha, that's a cool song leaky, thanks for sharing it!

KevinIsPwnReally glad you posted this. Stapler sent me this in a steam message earlier, and it totally made my day. I was actually gonna post it later tonight because it made me happy.

#STAPLERVIBES

Thanks KevBear! You have no idea how happy it makes me to see that it made your day, #MissionAccomplished :D

kirby1:32 if this swerved into a shamwow advertisement, i wouldn't even be upset.

awesome video though. these videos always get me thinking about every day things i usually take for granted and realize how amazing this world really is, even if it's buried beneath a thin layer of shit sometimes. you should definitely make more of these.

Haha thanks Kirby, yeah I got a lot of amazing feedback from people and it seems to be really making an impact on everyone's life in a positive way so i'm definitely going to continue working on some more videos!

#1 Take a moment to enjoy life! in Off Topic

Hey there random tf.tv forum goer, I want to first off apologize for not taking part in the community in the past 6 - 8 months, I have been working on various projects in life and have never quite found the time to be a part of this awesome community. But recently, I have come up with a new meaning in life and that's to inspire each and every person I meet, no matter if they like me or hate me to become the best person they could become. I was lucky enough to have a mentor in my life who showed me that being depressed and scared all the time isn't the way to rock through life, and a lot of people unfortunately do not get that kind of opportunity so I wanted to make some content geared towards that goal.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=unGFWimVtL8

PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT I DON'T WANT YOU GUYS TO SUBSCRIBE TO THE CHANNEL/LIKE THE VIDEO OR DO ANYTHING THAT MIGHT CATEGORIZE THIS AS AN ADVERTISEMENT.

I simply want to bring some positive vibes to everyone's life and hopefully it has some kind of impact and you guys carry on that energy to someone else in your life that needs it!

On a side note, i'm looking for more topics to talk about for future content, and I have couple in the pipeline which goes more into topics such as Depression and Self-Esteem, and I might do a more comedic video which talks about all the stupid shit that I've done in my life to hopefully teach a lesson or moral.

I really want to make a difference in the way people live their lives, and although I don't have the money or connections to make a real world difference, i'm going to try my best to convey it through the only format I know: VIDEOS! :D

Thanks for reading this guys, and I hope you all have an awesome day!
