From the doc that's TBA at a later date because they don't have people in position yet... So no one I guess?

plusProtonSeems like half of you just don't believe in RGL because they don't like sigafoo, which is insane because he has VERY LOW INPUT ON RUNNING THE FORMATS IN HIS LEAGUE THAT ARE NOT 7V7.

I don't believe in RGL because I believe the community can do better. I have been saying from day 1 that this is an amazing chance for the community to not only come together but to also make a league that the actual players have input in, rather than keeping this Illuminati shit going. But now instead of opening things up it has become locked down even harder, not only on the side of the decision makers but now also on the community content and casting side. Sure I might dislike sigafoo, but if the restrictions were not in place, and if the community was actually consulted rather than some backroom shit with majority yes-men I would have not said anything at all. Hell if it flips to that ever I'll shit the fuck up and walk away. I don't play the game anymore, I don't have a stake in it for gameplay or seeding or something like that, I just want a league that actually works for the players rather than the players being fucked by some overlord who thinks they know better or some bullshit. Hell I have a spreadsheet with something like 25 people's opinions on what they want to see from a league and I will happily give that to anyone and I still invite anyone who wants to give input to contact me. I am not causing shit because I hate sigafoo (even though it can be fun at times) I am causing shit because I hate the idea that the community gets fucked AGAIN.

sigafooMy aim was to get about 6 people who have been long time ESEA Invite players.

Congrats, you got 3.

Pure numbers don't mean anything, how serious people are is what matters. UGC had the largest player base for years yet it was still considered a total meme by just about everyone.

Scream why should we change that now? In order for people to be more accepting of this league, Sigafoo MUST work with TFTV, because nobody wants to watch a bunch of highlander players cast invite 6's matches.

TLDR; For the sake of competitive TF2's future and success, Sigafoo has to be willing to cooperate with TFTV and have a looser hand on major gameplay changes (map pool, match time, etc.), at LEAST for the first 2 seasons.

Never going to happen because sigafoos vision of what RGL should be is more important than what the community actually wants. Much in the same way it is for banny, hence why this is literally the first time where the banny group has some actual power and you see all of these super bizarre and upending changes coming into play. It went from the invite Illuminati making decisions to the banny Illuminati ignoring the rest of invite and making deductions.

Daffodil-It would be nice to have a universal ruleset, but no actual efforts have been made by any parties towards achieving one.

Except for the fact that, yah know, it's brought up just about every single time we talk about whitelists and maps... Hell not even two months ago we had this exact discussion.

sigafooAnd we are definitely very open to bringing in tf.tv folks who want to join our growing casting org.

This statement should be extremely concerning to people.

Daffodil-RebitesnipAdditionally, nothing is stopping the tftv production crew from joining the RGL production crew for 6s casts if they want to.

The fact that sigafoo just straight up dislikes many tftv people is probably a reason. Not to mention that the people who wanted to make the NATF2L contacted sigafoo about a month and a half ago about a possible partnership because we atleast know what 6s players want and are apart of the community and he more or less told us to pound sand because "our vision doesn't line up with what RGL wants tf2 to be". And then we learn from one of the NA admins that the admin wanted to actually talk to us about stuff but that was never allowed to happen. I would be VERY careful about what sigafoo says about anything in regards to how the 6s division is going to be run because he is very good at twisting words and spinning things. I have never been a fan of the RGL league (this is no secret) due to how it is presented and some of the underlying messages being sent, but it seems that it's going to be the main NA league at this point, so w/e. It is honestly probably the best option, but please for the love of God guys at least push for STV rights if you do anything. STVs and open casting have ALWAYS been massive part of this community and they are the reason we had people like bren and sideshow and Cornpop and gecks. Don't let it die because someone wants to monopolize shit because they are being over protective and petty.

WiethoofdTino_ RGL does reserve the right to maintain exclusive access to the STV as they see fit.:thinking:Somethingsomething ESL, FaceIT, Riot, Eleague, etc. *cough*

All leagues or orgs where they control the servers, who has access to it (playing and observing) and additionally provide coverage. I doubt they [RGL] will make an STV exclusive if they can't cover the game, but the Grand Finals (when covered) will be exclusive to their own producers & casters.

None of these are analogous. Riot owns the IP and games themselves and can do whatever they want with it. Esl, faceit, eleague etc are all constantly rotating and all have the opportunity to do what they like, whereas in this situation RGL is literally creating a monopoly on content (this is actually illegal in the US because it violates anti monopoly laws, but that's a whole other thing) and they can artificially rase or lower their perceived value at a whim. On top of that it totally fucks anyone who wants to get into casting something because it could become impossible to view STVs unless you get the sigafoo blessing. Like I don't even play the game any more, or actively work on tftv stuff I only do LANS, but this idea that STVs can be held hostage in this community is pure bullshit and everyone should understand that.

#57 pcmag.com's incredible review of tf2 in TF2 General Discussion
Honsterseems a whole lot like ignorantly lashing out.

Lashing out at who and at what? You are implying that there is some beef to be had and there is something that he is trying to get back at the game for, what in gods name is it and where did it come from? Nothing in his statement is "lashing out" at anything.

Reasonable to expect the average player to ask in chat or google any kind of information about spending money on the game before doing so? Probably not.

And that's literally all that matters. Him being able to or not isn't the problem, the fact that it has to be done in the first place is. The review is for random people who have never looked at the game before, not for people who want to fiend the internet for obscure mechanics and ways of obtaining in game items that you have zero idea if they are even worth it at the end of the day.

I dont think having acceleration makes TF2's movement unapproachably slippery and I have no idea what makes its aim feel floaty. I think accel is more player friendly than this, just look at the crouch jitter complaints for sniper.

It is, the mechanics of TF2 are super complex and super hard to grasp, the fact that you think OW is somehow MORE complex than TF2 is an absolute joke.

To characterize TF2's movement as bad because you suck at it is as absurd as installing Quake Champions and saying strafe jumping and cpma movement are trash because its hard as fuck if you havent been doing it for the last 20 years.

I bolded the problematic statement for you. Movement shooters have been gone for close to a decade already and to say they just need to "get good" is a absolutely useless comment.

That doesnt mean it shouldnt try but explaining how simple looking actions, reliant on minute variable changes in player input interacting with the arcane physics of some game engine, can be used in a complex fashion is a lot harder than press key, poof, have 100% consistently performing ability. The flexibility and depth is what makes the games interesting.

Yet again the fact that you have to put hundreds of hours in to "get it" is one of TF2's biggest issues currently.

TF2 is fucking filled with issues, which arent adressed in any meaningful manner in the article.

Because they dont need to be, he is 100% right when he says any sane person in this day and age should pas on TF2 if they have never played it before. The game is from a different era and people need to understand that.

The only thing of value you can glean from reading the article is how befuddled a close minded new player is left after trying to play it

Welcome to 95% of players today.

#9 Cyberpunk 2077 Release date announced in Other Games
wtzor hear me out, do what you like
(also what’s the difference from preordering and immediately buying at least wait a few more days for reviews n shit if ur gonna wait lol)

By pre-ordering you show confidence in the product and the company can go and use that pre-order data and metrics to sell their ideas and shit to either investors or publishers. Really it's just a vote of confidence in the company and product.

#51 pcmag.com's incredible review of tf2 in TF2 General Discussion
HonsterMikeMatThis game is borderline unplayable on a clean install and yall are surprised someones first impressions of it arent positive?
Somehow I dont think increasing the fov, enabling quickswitch, and and decreasing the interp are going to have a noticeable impact for this guy. I am genuinely unsure if the article is lashing out from total ignorance or the more cynical purposefully inflammatory clickbait route. Either way this is some highly concentrated games journalism.

Somehow I dont think increasing the fov, enabling quickswitch, and and decreasing the interp is what mikemat was getting at. TF2 has more than those 3 systems and every single one of them doesn't work properly in the first place, or is so outdated it might as well be useless. This guy isn't lashing out at anything, rather he is bringing up valid problems with the game in its current state. The stock UI is garbage, the movement and aim does feel floaty and loose compared to any of the current gen games. The gfx and models look like garbage when compared to anything less than 5 or 6 years old. The micro transactions are an absolute fucking joke, especially when you are not told that you can trade for everything for like 0.30c and instead need to look at single weapons in the store for up to $7.50. There are so many fucking issues with TF2 the fact that he game it a passing grade is actually a surprise.

Now it is also very obvious that he just "doesn't get it", but the fact that you need to get "it" to even enjoy TF2 in this day and age is a massive part of the issues with the game, and players that don't understand that really need a reality check.

#40 pcmag.com's incredible review of tf2 in TF2 General Discussion

Why is anyone surprised by this review at all? You are lying to yourself if you honestly think that TF2 ISNT an absolute shitfest when it comes to new player experience and understanding. Sure he missed a lot of what makes TF2 good, but to understand most of that it takes hundreds of hours of investment if not more and just ignoring these issues and saying "lol hes just bad" is smooth brain as all hell.
