#27 Significant FPS increase with dx98 in Customization

Dell Vostro 3560 craptop
640x480 (stretched)
comanglia's cfg
nohats (headsfeet)

952639 frames 28.311 seconds 93.21 fps (10.73 ms/f) 5.597 fps variability982639 frames 30.854 seconds 85.53 fps (11.69 ms/f) 5.294 fps variability

Might try without a cfg later. Might have better results

Forty-Twosnip. Can anyone confirm/deny?

90 is valid afaik. Perhaps you thought of dxlevel 70. A couple of weeks back people were talking about it in a thread

#4566 Frag Clips Thread in Videos
Koncepthttps://youtu.be/EmvxL2gF-ts

Second time around at a frag video. Gonna try and keep upping the quality until it's where I want it to be. Never gonna use Lawrena though cause that shit deleted all of my cfgs and my entire custom folder.

go to your tf folder and look for the backup zip. Lawena always backs up your cfgs before putting in its own. I think Lawena is supposed to delete the backup zips afterwards but never does for me

Not sure what causes cfgs to sometimes not be put back. Perhaps you closed Lawena before it was able to put everything back in its place

#22 democall - deli in Videos

Not sure if there's a standard for the clips (like scrim/match only)
This was from a mix with friends

DL: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ktpe2ze109w3vpd/Tob_Snake_Sniper_3KwithAirshot_MedPick_80to84K.dem?dl=0
preview: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3VrEfDP8YxM

The med pick is off target because I was playing with 120 ping. I found a way around it by rerecording the part where I scope in on a high interp (I think I used cl_interp 1) and some cutting and pasting. The shot is on target then but it looks like the medic stands still/reacts late depending on how high I set the interp. However with my very limited editing skills I made it look kind of okay
The preview is unedited with cl_interp 0.033

#6 Help with tracking in TF2 General Discussion

Something that helped me is tracking teammates. pubs, warmup, in-game during stalemates or rollouts, etc
If there are no enemies to shoot I'm tracking a teammate. There's no pressure to hit any shots on teammates so all you need to think about is your aim

#71 TF2 update for 7/28/16 in TF2 General Discussion

https://youtu.be/sgNMgM8jeDY

Was bored so made this quick video showing what
"sv_cheats 1;tf_viewmodels_offset_override -5 5 -5;tf_use_min_viewmodels 0;viewmodel_fov 70"
looks like. I'd be so happy if Valve made something like "tf_use_min_viewmodels 2/3/4" with options like these

Looks pretty cool on the original as well. Sort of like how many people like to have their viewmodels in Reflex
http://puu.sh/qishX/d194e56fd6.png

After testing some more values I think I found a really good one: 0 3 -10
Basically the default viewmodel but moved down
(the 3 moves the viewmodel to the right a bit. Looked better like that imo. Also rockets/pipes are better alligned with the projectiles coming from the right)

#57 TF2 update for 7/28/16 in TF2 General Discussion

http://puu.sh/qi1UG/a4d7fec535.png

tf_viewmodels_offset_override -5 5 -5
viewmodel_fov 70
This is what I personally wanted from the min viewmodels

The main thing I dislike about the min viewmodels is that rockets/pipes still come from the right.
Really hoping they consider maybe making some presets like csgo has. I don't really care about them unlocking xyz completely. But having like 2 or 3 minmode options would be nice

#4 Optimizing my fps in Hardware

http://www.teamfortress.tv/30651/boost-fps-with-this-one-simple-trick

Definitely try this. According to people in the thread it worked best for people with higher end rigs.
Just take a look at the cfg you get in the end and remove the stuff you don't need. Might have some useless stuff in there like fov_desired 75 and console controller commands

#34 teamfortress.tv tag in TF2 General Discussion
gatsanI have been trying to get people to come to teamfortress.tv/the twitch channel but I'm getting mostly negative responses including some guy calling me a scammer or saying TF2 can't go competitive its "hat fortress" now

Do I just not say anything and hope someone asks "hey whats tf.gg"?

There will always be negative responses. But in the end there will always be more positive ones.
I'm 100% certain people have already checked out the site because of people using the tag.
They just don't mention it to whoever was using the tag. The ones that do respond are the few idiots like the 2 you mentioned

If you feel like the tf.gg tag attracts too much negative attention use www.teamfortress.tv or twitch.tv/teamfortresstv

#11 Sniper improvement in TF2 General Discussion

Just keep practising.

Pubs are perfect for learning how to aim. Even when some people's movement is terrible it will remind you to actually think about your aim when you miss that one scout that's standing still whilst shooting his soda popper across the map

I like sniping on cp_orange and ctf_turbine for practise but you can learn on any map. Though unrelated to aim you should always think about sightlines and positioning. If you use those right you'll be a lot more comfortable with the shots you take which will help your aim

Be comfortable with the sensitivity you use. You can learn to snipe with any sensitivity so use whatever feels good for you. If you feel like you're too inconsistent try messing with zoom_sensitivity_ratio a bit before you change your overall sensitivity (assuming you don't use a seperate sensitivity for sniper. No point in changing your sens on all classes just for sniping)

I still change my sensitivities daily but I use seperate sensitivities for hitscan/projectiles so I don't have to get used to it on every class every time. I feel like changing a sensitivity (both general sensitivity and zoom_sensitivity_ratio) by up to 20% is still comfortable to use and you get used to it quickly. So if you really want to start messing with sensitivities because you don't feel consistent enough don't change it by too much every time

There's no 'best' way of aiming. Learn both tracking and flicking. You'll naturally learn when to use what. I often use a combination of both with every shot I take

I prefer having my crosshair on when zoomed but I know some good snipers that don't use it. Though I do think having it on helps your aim it definitely isn't required for improving

Some minor things that helped me when I was still learning to aim:
- Go for every shot. Even when your target goes behind a wall. Shoot the wall. Doesn't matter. As long as you go for the shot and it's where you predict them to be it'll help you
- Avoid sniper v sniper servers. It's where I started when I decided to main sniper but looking back it really wasn't good. Most players there are bad and you'll learn bad habits like secondscoping. Secondscoping is bad because you're just shooting targets that are standing still. It doesn't help your aim that much and only works against other snipers
- Always keep your crosshair at head height when not zoomed in. You'll only have to move your crosshair horizontally in a lot of situations so this definitely helps

edit:
- Another minor tip: A great way to practise tracking is by tracking teammates. This works on any class. I often do it on scout too. No enemies around? Just track some teammates' heads. No need to shoot at them. Just stay on target

#150 yttrium's competitive viewmodels in Customization

Same thing is happening to me

I haven't done a lot of testing but I think loading a listenserver when you start TF2 should make it work
I think all the times it didn't work after starting TF2 was when I didn't warm up offline first
Not 100% on this yet though. I can test it later
