#24 !africa recruiting players ESEA OPEN S13 in Recruitment (looking for team)

This team tries whacky team compositions for the sake of being different. Their team "Scum" in UGC ran their roam with rocket jumper, their demo with scottish resistance, a FaN scout, and often used quickfix because no one else used it. They don't play like this because they found some undiscovered gem of an effective playstyle, they do it because it makes them unique. It's the type of hipster team that would check ESEA stats for the least used classes and weapons and then play them.

In other words, get ready to lose a lot of games that you would have otherwise won if you had played standard. Thief has been playing long enough to where he actually has good DM - he just refuses to comply to standard 6s format and it cripples them.

Sorry if this post sounds harsh, I die a little inside whenever one of the "Scum" players tell me that quick fix is overpowered and the only reason people don't use it in ESEA is because they're too lazy to learn a new medigun.

I was chewing Juicy Fruit in class and it lost all it's flavor but I didn't want to get up in the middle of class to throw it away so I just kept chewing it and it was awful.

#31 Vote Dota2 for ESEA in TF2 General Discussion
profact of the matter is i think Lpkane was just getting defensive about the "da bears" comment. honestly though, he didn't run the sc2 department well at all.... there was a lot of hate on team liquid which has ultimately led to the low team numbers in your sc2 division.. (i believe)lpkane#71 if i felt the need to get defensive i would simply erase you from this community

dfyAbramelinKupkakeNeeds more Necrophagist
Necrophagist is a flashy display of technique and nothing more. It has no artistic value.

Check out Atheist, Electrocution, Suffocation, and Capharnaum if you need a tech-death fix.

oooooh nooooo neo classical solos in death metal are soooo flassshyyy, the lead singer/guitarist is heavily influenced by yngwie and he likes to incorporate that in his style of play. how do you say 'techdeath' and mention suffocation? you sound like a 12 yearold fan boy regurgitating comments on a youtube video. suffocation is oldschool just straight raw death metal from new york. you wanna talk flashy think of shit bands like dragonforce...that is flashy as fuck. necrophagist is TALENTED. and before you think im jumping on the defensive for a band its the complete opposite, just pointing out utter stupidity and everything that is wrong with what you said. to each his own but god damn...

It's technical wankery as a whole - you can be a talented musician and show it without giving up the ability to write decent riffs. Necrophagist is like a 50:50 ratio of solos vs riffs and even that is generous assumption to how many riffs there are. How good the solos are aside, that's awful. I group together Necrophagist with bands like Psyopus and Behold the Arctopus because it's for people who enjoy the technical aspect over the music aspect.

To quote one of Necrophagist's reviews "These guys noodle more than a case of ramen."

EDIT: Atheist, Suffocation, and early Cryptopsy are old school DM bands, yes. But they're also considered Tech Death by many. Basically all Death Metal has technical elements so the definition of Tech Death is pretty ambiguous - it's just a term for more of a focus on technicality.

#1 Interplay "Pay What You Want" Sale in Off Topic

http://www.gog.com/interplay?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_content=game_subject&utm_campaign=2012_autumn_conference

Alright, if you're familiar with how the Humble Bundle deals work this is more or less the same thing. Interplay is putting their catalog of old games up for sale and is allowing 8 games for however much you want to pay. If you pay above the average you can get 20 games, and if you pay 35 bucks you get 32 games.

If you're not familiar with the games on the list, I'd recommend getting all the Fallout titles, the Descent titles, and Sacrifice.

KupkakeNeeds more Necrophagist

There's an adequate amount of Necrophagist in the list. There's much better tech death out there that isn't full of misplaced solos (Decapitated, Psycroptic, Arsis)

#43 Relationship help? in Off Topic

Reading that log made me cringe. Your boyfriend made a valid point but presented it like a dick and your responses were pessimistic "I can't do it and I'll never be able to do it" responses. There's no way to reassure or help people with that mindset. I thought this conversation looked familiar and realized I had a log saved of talking to someone who wanted help on TF2. It's eerie how similar the conversations are but with a different topic.

#24 Interesting Salamancer post in TF2 General Discussion

Going off what swiper said, I don't think Valve would ever implement a gamemode that is limited to mostly scout, soldier, demo, and medic. TF2 is a great competitive game but the game was not created with the competitive aspect as a focus. People gravitate towards "maining" the class that suits their style the most and they have the most fun with. I'm fairly positive that Valve has no interest in implementing a gamemode where you don't have the opportunity to use all 9 classes.

#5 Competitive-minded Pyro Mod in TF2 General Discussion

Competitive 6s functions that every class has viable moments, but 2 scouts, 2 soldiers, 1 demo, and 1 medic is standard play. I can't speak for everyone, but I will anyways. Everyone fucking hates playing against pyros. Spamming compression blast is a very valid defensive strategy and is annoying as fuck on maps like gpit where you can stand on top of C and blast everyone off in a two mile radius by mashing mouse2 and looking in someones general direction.

I'm pretty sure no one wants pyros buffed to the point where they're used as a permanent replacement for a soldier or scout.
