SetsulSeems like it'll be in stock in Germany next week or end of August, depending on the shop, so that might be an option.
There's the Freezer 33 (not in stock at alternate.dk either) and the Hyper 212 TR (not even listed) which are both not exactly high end and seem like odd choices for a 200W CPU. They Arctic/CM probably went with those only because those sell the most and selling a <30$ cooler with minor modifications for 45$ is basically as good as it gets. At the high end they'd rather sell 150$ Aios. That's why there's no other air coolers. Why put money into making 70$ air coolers compatible with TR4 when you can just force everyone to buy >100$ water coolers? If marketing has done its job everyone who wants high performance will buy those anyway and everyone who doesn't will buy those basic 30$ coolers at a markup.
If that's the case I'll just hold on for the fan since regardless of price, I'd just be terrified of having water on top of a £1500ish CPU/mobo. It does say delivery on August on alternate.dk anyway for the Noctua. Thanks again for all the help!
Hey Setsul, yet another question. Looks like the Noctua fan won't be out until early/mid September, so are there any good alternatives that are actually out? i.e some of the Corsair fans or whatever is best.
Looks good, can always upgrade the PSU should I ever decide to get a 2nd. As always, thanks for the help : )
Hey Setsul, was just going to go buy the parts for my computer when I noticed the PSU has seemingly run out of stock and won't be back until the 12th/13th of September. Any recommended alternatives?
Instead of auto cancelling, give captains the option of forfeiting after 5 minutes, similar function to how captains currently can sub players if they are taking forever to connect
shamu and kermit scout carry
no dota fortress? also why bother trying to make this a tf2 themed event still when you have hardly any tf2 involved, less than a 3rd of content will be tf2
klassyCould we please somehow remove penalties for subbing people out before games even launch? It's really annoying getting a 2 hour ban when you just want to play in the next pug with your mates.
why add up to the first pug then. ur making people in that pug wait for a sub because u personally dont want to play it, u deserve a ban for that.
find something u care about more than tf2 so that u get really pissed off when u think about it and then tf2 will be meaningless to you thus removing tilt
i would enjoy watching high winning scout sheepysdoghand 1v1 bad scouts
SetsulI won't judge mobos based on the number of LEDs and like I said there are no reviews yet.
The cooler you linked is not the TR4-SP3 version.
The case will work.
Found the cooler here, and along with other parts it only adds £8 to the total, as for the mobo, the only one of those two with a release date is the ASRock X399 Taichi on the 29th, so there's plenty of time until they come out. So with everything waiting on being released, is there anything else I need to think about? Mounting for the cooler is sorted, as both cooler/mobo are TR4, correct? Any other things I'll need like thermal paste?
SetsulYes, any of those mobos would work.
RAM should be 4 sticks, other than that it can be exactly the same.
You'll need a different cooler, TR4 is physically larger than any cooler available so they wouldn't cover the whole CPU.
There's a list https://www.amd.com/en/thermal-solutions-threadripper but it's not complete.
I generally don't recommend Aios. The Hyper 212 and Freezer 33 aren't particularly impressive so if you can afford it I'd go with an NH-U12S or NH-U14S, TR4-SP3 version, http://noctua.at/en/products/cpu-cooler-retail unless something better is released very soon.
The PSU should be fine, I couldn't find any better PSUs with more appropriate wattage in that shop, 750 or even 850W are overkill even for an 1950X + 1080 Ti.
Also since I just noticed it in the pcp list you used the old CX850M (green) which is quite a lot worse than the new one (grey), don't mess that up when you're actually ordering it.
For the mobo, this or this? They're the same price, so would appreciate advice.
Good catch on the cooler, thanks. So just to sum it up;
CPU: 1950X
CPU cooler: NH-U12S
Motherboard: 1 or 2
Memory: 2x 8GB x2
HDD: 3TB
SSD: 250GB
GPU: 1080Ti
PSU: 850W (not the green one)
Case: Will this case work?
Editing to add prices, 13497 DKK (£1642) for the remaining parts, 18608 DKK (£2263) altogether. Only a tad over budget : )
SetsulOk, just making sure. Another 4 cores extra is obiously nice.
Yes, only TR4.
How are reviews with benchmarks that take days to run available on launch day? Just because you can't buy it yet and shops don't have it in stock yet (see your link) doesn't mean review sites don't have it already.
At this point most reviews are actually done and everyone is just waiting for the NDA date.
Yeah, I lost some common sense there haha. So for mobos I know what I need (I assume any of the 4 mobos listed on here), but what about RAM? Along with that, is there anything else needed to accommodate the better CPU/mobo (better cooling/power maybe)?
