Don't make everything smooth and simple; that's very good for chokes, points and lasts but places like granary lunchbox, gully upper and behind badlands last make for much more interesting fights/flanks. One thing I've never liked about process is how cut and dry sewer or IT are. Claustrophobic flanks, dropdowns, (reasonable) hiding spots and unusual geometry help to make fights more than just initial positioning and ammomod aim.

Frag video -> frags. No editing other than a bit of color correction. If you would have to speed up a clip, it probably wasn't interesting anyways. Use generic music (e.g. electronic/rock), not whatever ska-punk fusion you happen to like that day; the goal of music in a frag video is to establish a rhythm and have something to sync frags to, not to be a substitute for a link to your last.fm page. By and far, frags are the most important part. Don't include drawn-out fights, more than a few missed shots (especially missed airshots), or any smooths at all. Grape's and Zebbosai's are great examples of different, but well done frag videos.
For movies, there is obviously a lot more artistic freedom. Music can be a lot more varied, as the extra editing allows it to be worked in better. Like everyone else has said, Torn is the gold standard for high profile movies. The Experiment S9 is one of the best frag movies for TF2, and the quality of the players is only a part of that. Also, don't make (serious) movies from anything less structured than scrims, especially when the movie is for a team.
Please don't do anything in sfm, it's absurdly contrived.
I should note, if you want the best theoretical basis for programming (i.e. if you want to really know what you're doing), I would suggest getting an eval board for a small MCU and learning on that. Having direct access to hardware makes a world of difference when it comes to understanding how everything works at a low level (which can be pretty useful for optimization at a higher level). However, if your interest is mostly in making high-level applications, there's no need.
Don't choose to learn a language. Find a specific project for which you need to program and learn the best language for it. While it's true that there are better first languages to learn than others (C(++) for theory, Python for ease, js for dev base), you won't really learn a language until you have to accomplish something with it.
Almost definitely a bad cap, I've had this happen to a lot of monitors (mostly acer and samsung). It's usually really easy to fix, just open up the back and look for something obviously wrong and get a replacement from Digikey with comparable specs. If you have (access to) a soldering iron, it should be really easy.
It has no FPS benefits; all it's doing is replacing a texture. However, I use a custom skybox combined with an FPS config/Nvidia Inspector to get this effect.
The way to do it is to get custom skybox vmt/vtfs (included somewhere in the Lawena installation) and add a complete copy of the skybox of your choice to tf\custom\folder\materials\skybox for each map which you want them to work on. For example, if I wanted the skybox of badlands on dustbowl and granary, I would add two copies of
sky_badlands_01bk.vtf
sky_badlands_01bk.vmt
sky_badlands_01dn.vtf
sky_badlands_01dn.vmt
sky_badlands_01ft.vtf
sky_badlands_01ft.vmt
sky_badlands_01lf.vtf
sky_badlands_01lf.vmt
sky_badlands_01rt.vtf
sky_badlands_01rt.vmt
sky_badlands_01up.vtf
sky_badlands_01up.vmt
to tf\custom\folder\materials\skybox, renamed to sky_granary* and sky_dustbowl*.
Note that many maps share skyboxes, so this will more likely that not affect more maps than intended.
I haven't tried, but you could probably use the solid green skyboxes used for chroma keying in frag videos for extra contrast.
I haven't notice it stop working during matches, so I'm reasonably certain that they work in sv_pure 2 (possibly due to preloading).

Regardless of anything about morality, it's objectively stupid to eat dogs/cats/almost any animal kept as a pet.
Cows, pigs and chickens have all been raised entirely for their meat for hundreds of years because they're efficient. It's all well and good to try your best to criticize the West for hypocrisy, but it's outright fallacious to compare raising cows for slaughter to catching stray dogs.
The argument that this is happening in poverty-stricken countries is equally fallacious; it's somewhere in high school biology that they go over how much less efficient carnivores are than herbivores, especially with respect to farming.
Furthermore, trying to call out factory farms for being even remotely similar to the situation at hand (torture/inefficient killing methods) is idiotic. No, modern animal farming is not humane relative to traditional farming, but there isn't a chance in hell that it's going to ever be like that, for what should be obvious reasons.

I use 'startmovie X' manually as well. You can specify a drive in naming the file, allowing you to output to anywhere, eg
startmovie "W:\Tools\Raw_TGAs"
Ensure that you use quotes.
KhakiI would play if I could figure out how to run melee on dolphin with a consistent 60 fps and less input lag
What's your setup? Is dolphin configured as per the megathread suggests?
If my adapter shows up, sure.

USE IRC
mr_owl i understand ur an old man but change isn't always bad
It's objectively worse. IRC is real-time; you will never see someone asking for scrims who doesn't want to scrim. Looking through a subforum of >50 teams trying to find scrims and trying to find ones at the right skill level who are playing on that specific night would be godawful.
