i know fireside dabbled in similar territory but it's kinda hard to tell a story across multiple seasons since teams change all the time and seasons tend to be more discrete compared to jump, for example
maybe the best recent "story" i can think of for 6s is witness' upset win in season 6

that being said, people keep saying that tf2 just needs a "smash documentary" and itll be an esport but after seeing a handful of (relatively popular) attempts at it, im not convinced. i think a compelling story should just be that, and the weight of "saving the game" or just an intention of making 6s more popular tend to make these videos worse. especially since it's not even necessary because 6s is a compelling and interesting format even for the layman of it's explained properly

i played it during uni which was a lot of fun, especially in a city, but after a while got tired of the grind

idk if its intentional but the pug i played today was 30 minute + overtime and 20 mins is way better if its overtime

why would i believe that israel orchestrated the oct 7 attacks without any evidence when i could instead believe in the ingenuity, courage, and passion of the palestinian people & their resistance for which there is plenty of evidence

i agree that he tends to have business-like socializing on froyo (from what we can see), but he objectively does more out-of-game than most other invite players
also there's plenty to criticize about how b4nny conducts himself but not posting on tftv and not hanging out in discord are both so meaningless like who cares

base weapons look better than their war paint counterparts 95% of the time , and reskins like festives, australiums, and botkillers look better than war paints almost categorically

i get the sentiment but i know for a fact that that exact same example happened this season and rgl asked them to change it, not ban them
im not gonna pretend to know or care about the rgl forums though so maybe they are fucking up

imo going from pub play to 6s has an inherent barrier of entry getting used to the format, regardless of your level of pub experience. making the entry pug/learning resources more like a pub would make those more approachable for pubbers but doesn't ease the learning curve, it just sweeps it under the rug/passes the buck further down

did the pugs quietly change to 30 minute + progressive overtime? i remember when the new servers were added people just assumed they hadn't been updated but i definitely prefer 20 minutes if it is going to be on the progressive ruleset and cant remember the last time i played one of those

I think generally the 6s community is bad at articulating itself to casual players because most of the really insane conspiracy-esque takes about how "big comp" is ruining tf2 are borne out multiple cases of complete misunderstanding building on top of each other.
I do think the easiest way to fix this is just more competitive players talking about competitive tf2 because on the face of it, if you know what you're talking about then it's really simple to explain that this class limit is this way because of x, or this is a strategy that players will do because of y
In my own comments section i see a ton of pub babble or people who are belligerent at the mere idea of any restrictions being put in place to begin with, but I also see a fair share of people who have had their minds changed, want to try playing 6s, or just appreciated the new perspective on things without expressing interest in playing
