i get the sentiment but i know for a fact that that exact same example happened this season and rgl asked them to change it, not ban them
im not gonna pretend to know or care about the rgl forums though so maybe they are fucking up

imo going from pub play to 6s has an inherent barrier of entry getting used to the format, regardless of your level of pub experience. making the entry pug/learning resources more like a pub would make those more approachable for pubbers but doesn't ease the learning curve, it just sweeps it under the rug/passes the buck further down

did the pugs quietly change to 30 minute + progressive overtime? i remember when the new servers were added people just assumed they hadn't been updated but i definitely prefer 20 minutes if it is going to be on the progressive ruleset and cant remember the last time i played one of those

I think generally the 6s community is bad at articulating itself to casual players because most of the really insane conspiracy-esque takes about how "big comp" is ruining tf2 are borne out multiple cases of complete misunderstanding building on top of each other.
I do think the easiest way to fix this is just more competitive players talking about competitive tf2 because on the face of it, if you know what you're talking about then it's really simple to explain that this class limit is this way because of x, or this is a strategy that players will do because of y
In my own comments section i see a ton of pub babble or people who are belligerent at the mere idea of any restrictions being put in place to begin with, but I also see a fair share of people who have had their minds changed, want to try playing 6s, or just appreciated the new perspective on things without expressing interest in playing

it is a little weird how the picking algorithm sees that the favorability is like 75+% in favor of one team and still picks those teams

there's actually an extremely simple, unobtrusive, and easy way to fix sniper on every map including product...

while i agree with the sentiment that we aren't considerate enough to each other generally, there's nothing hypocritical about being more concerned when someone starts making threats of harm to themselves and others imo

is it really so surprising that people write ai off completely when most peoples exposures to "ai" are just shitty spam advertisements. Or generating a non-consenting persons likeness, including for use in pornography. Or all the underhanded attempts to get consent (or complete disregard thereof) to use peoples data to train models. Or see memes mocking some allegedly revolutionary chatbot utterly failing to grasp basic common sense. Or see their already trash insurance, internet, bank, etc company replace their customer service (which people already notoriously hate) with some shitty chatbot that serves as noting more than a hurdle to speak to an actual person. Or the fact that so many public advocates of the magic of ai look, sound, and act the same as crypto shills.
add on to the fact that the outputs of generative ai is often so bland and devoid of anything interesting that it seems like the most interesting thing about it is that a computer made it, a novelty which wears off extremely quickly.

is it really so shocking that pubbers are upset that they can barely play casual when tftv has a thread every few months over mild inconveniences, obviously people care about what affects them. proudly declaring that you don't actually care about the thing that other people do doesn't make you cool

there should be a separate rating that only captains can see that tell you if the player youre picking took a bong rip just before queueing
