JuiceBoxFreshman year, my GPA was at a 3.9 ( mainly B+s in everything except math). Just finished junior year with a 4.53 (Straight As and A+s) getting a 97% on my Precalc final!
Senior year is gonna be a nightmare since I'm taking 6 AP courses.
IT'LL BE WORTH IT I SWEAR.
hey man, I just graduated HS (class of '15). I graduated having taken 7 AP courses senior year and 9 AP exams total. it's EXTREMELY worth it. I'm coming into college starting with Calc 2 and Comp Sci 2, and completely skipping all natural science/ social sciences/ English req's (physics, economics, psych, lang). I'm also partially skipping the history req's (government). after I clear my remaining history requirement, I'm essentially free to take whatever classes interest me. I want to major in Computer Science, and I'm considering a minor in Math. I'm also in my school's honor college, and have to take some required course to graduate with an honor's degree.
the amount of AP credit I'm coming in with will make all of this so so so much easier. I'm able to focus pretty solely on Math & CS courses and ignore all the stupid requirements I didn't want to take anyways (more gov, more english). I'm able to freely pick my humanities and general honor's requirements, and that's dope. currently I'm enrolled in honor's philosophy.
on a 5.0 scale, my freshman GPA was 3.2 (lol)
same 5.0 scale, my senior GPA was 4.9 (LOL)
I moved into harder classes and did better because I cared a lot more and there was a lot more on the line.
you can do it man, and it's so ridiculously worth it.
some words of advice:
prepare to have a possible nightmare enrolling in some college courses. I'm technically enrolled in Calc 1 rn because my Calc AB scores haven't come in yet. as soon as it shows I passed the test I gotta call and have them put me in Calc 2.
go to barnes and noble to study for your AP tests if you haven't been doing this already. you can sit at barnes' starbucks and use the AP books they have on the shelves without buying them.
look ahead at the college of your choice's AP credits. sometimes you can skip some AP exams as you already got credit for it in a previous exam. for example, I didn't have to take the Lit exam because it cleared the exact same classes that the Lang exam got me credit for. don't take exams blindly!!
good luck mate, and again, it's worth it.
