whyd they decide to do 4 teams only that seems kinda lame, not like there isn't enough time to do elimination and play all the matches

i mean i can see why they take demos seriously cause that's related to actual cheating and they don't want to be lenient towards that at all/set a precedent
but abusing bugs to get unfair advantages in matches i would argue is worse than submitting the wrong demo lol, RGL really needs to rethink their rules
Hold on how is RGL going to ban people for multiple weeks for missing demos but when an entire team gets caught using a direct exploit to cheat twice they only get the equivalent of half of a lost match and nobody gets banned?? Aren't you supposed to make an example and prevent people from cheating in the future? Boot those fuckers out of playoffs lmao
magmard u will burn in hell for leaving our team to play with honorless CHEATERS
alright whos tryna get an airbnb
gonna be a bitch to travel cross country mid semester and get behind on work but fuck it, it's been too long, gotta take the L to see the homies at lan
jetzblame unrelated life problem on tf2 -> quit tf2 -> problem is not fixed by quitting tf2 -> figure out how to fix problem -> play tf2 again -> new problem appears -> repeat cycle forever
tho at this point im pretty sure ive broken the cycle by only playing like two nights a week, and mostly just to hang out with teammates
definitely feel this, playing the game is a great way to de-stress and hang out with the homies, but it definitely affected my sleep negatively, and the nightly commitment got tiresome and prevented me from doing stuff with roommates/friends (also grad school + tf2 is a bad combo lol)
the problem is the game is addicting so it's hard to not go back and try again, and things like sleep habits and general lifestyle changes take a long time, in my case i quit and was still in the rhythm of being alert at night and staying up late for months after quitting, but it eventually settled down and my body adjusted
as fun as it is playing the game in the moment, i am definitely happier overall and less stressed when not playing on a team or playing any games regularly

this thread changed my life thank u
i swear if RGL was just a tiny bit more hesitant to ban people none of these backlash threads would happen, i get ur striving to be as good as u can but its like a cop who arrests/shoots too many people lmao all the admins have to do is chill out for a bit and not ban anyone unless they do something really egregious
lol point still stands threads with one person (who doesnt even play in the league) incessantly posting are awful, oh look another RGL thread where i have to read through 15 setsul posts saying the same exact thing
can we talk about how Multiple People have successfully submitted renamed demos and gotten away with it and if antlers had been less honest and just done that, this probably all wouldn't have been an issue lmao
draconian rules on demos which dont even get watched the vast majority of the time (as evidenced by many people not getting in trouble for straight up submitting the wrong demos as sgc said) seems a little silly to me, also as air pointed out clearly the admins have not even been able to detect cheaters for long stretches of time despite them being mass reported by players and the cheaters providing demos, but rules are rules and given that they are in place it makes sense to enforce them (edit: i think the rules are stupid and demo checks should be way less often or at least not target the same guy 4 times in a given year or w.e. it was for antlers, given ive had like two tops in the last 3 years)
in my 3 seasons of RGL invite i dont think i got asked for my demos a single time, and last season in advanced i got asked one time, is there an actual system for how often you can expect to get asked for demos? the whole system just makes no sense and seems super inconsistent, but what else is new it's RGL
as much as i want to sympathize with antlers it really is not that hard to just have two separate folders for casting and for playing, with prec in the playing one, sucks to have someone who actually cares about the game get banned but u gotta get ur shit together, im p sure there were tftv threads fairly recently where i even posted about how i used to do a symlink switch with a .bat file (on windows) and avoid the hassle of dragging files in and out every time, if ur gonna do it manually and not try to find a better way to do it u just gotta do a good job of it or suffer the consequences
also, these threads are fucking painful to read man i get your point setsul and yea obviously being consistent with bans makes sense, but jfc just stop posting so much, this shit is like a mustardoverlord politics thread where u have to scroll thru the same shit over and over for multiple pages, just let ur earlier posts speak for themselves
not sure if this is intentional or not but the ability to add to multiple classes (and specific roles like pocket/roamer at least) would be nice
if the goal is quick pickups you might want to do a similar system from mixchamp (which in turn was inspired by tf2mix) where it will start the game if there are at least 12 people and the right distribution of classes (i.e., more than 2 meds, more than 2 demos, etc. so that it can actually pick the teams randomly and start)
site already feels much more responsive than pugchamp lol hopefully there will not be constant issues of the site going down and timing you out and stuff like that
i dont have much time to pug and dont like joining discords but if there was an online feedback form or something like that you could probably get useful feedback

fast horizontal jumps like jay does on this mid are super hard to dodge, also from the soldier's perspective there's pretty much no reason not to go for the spoon when you're doing saw bombs like this to get a potential -195 and retain two rockets to use after
def fun to use as a soldier but pretty gimmicky and silly mechanic to have in the game as there's pretty much no counter play to a soldier landing on u at mach ten with a spoon (a scout further up on highground on snake mid could've prevented the bomb but obviously u can just wait until a scout is pressured back), with regular bombs u can bait out rockets by dodging, surf, and the soldier has to hit at least two good directs to kill you as a medic versus one crit mg
kinda curious to see if some region will ban it for a season cause it surely won't change play that much but i think it'd be interesting to see the pain train/equlizer decision rather than every soldier aspiring to get good at mg and running it all the time lol
