Tery_Hell of a show and major props to the G6 gang, but the decision to not ban Granary during map selection is mind-boggling to me. Could have definitely landed the upset on a different map I feel.
last 3 maps was process metal granary and i made the decision to take the risk that they wouldn't want to play granary to try to get process which is a map that's good for us. granary was still extremely winnable so i'm not super bothered by it
oof
can someone tell me where this vtf xhair is
arcadiaexa_this was also polledIt should be obvious that the lowest common denominator poll-completer does not know, nor care to consider, a situation like this.
The South American community is inextricably linked with the North American community, as a self-touted community league, you should be representing these players as well
hard agree
i see no reason to stop sa/eu people from playing if they want to. it's not like rgl 6's has leagues for other regions
other people having high ping doesn't really affect low ping players, that should be pretty obvious from the 2 cups where a top level na/eu full stack played in the opposite region
mustardoverlordglassi don't think any of you actually watch jay
his impact with the market gardener comes from getting free kills in chaos fights when players have to look at habib or they'll die
he gets his share of med picks/drops but those are easier to guard against through positioning and anticipation. on the other hand it's impossible to stop him from getting free quick kills in team fights
fun to watch tho
I actually came in to say this, a lot of what jay's been doing more recently is waiting til people are turned, I remember scrimming froyo and trying to hold process last and he waited until I HAD to turn to watch the point to jump in and spoon me
I know someone is going to ask what the difference is between getting bombed with rockets while not looking and getting spooned while not looking
The difference is time and it's a pretty big deal, bombing with rockets you'll often get traded or be unable to get the kill, pretty big deal
but yeah, at least once a game as soldier with spoon you'll just straight up be able to instantly kill someone because they can't really look at you, even if you kind of suck at jumping lol
probably subtracts more from the game than it adds
it's also another thing that makes medic unfun so there's that
also no matter how good you are with it/vs it sometimes it's literally just rng whether it hits you or not (milk vs pop in these situations is just stupid)
also like any of credu's videos lmao

brodynablaWhoever comes from lower bracket has lost a match already because they were in lower bracket. If the upper bracket winner loses a bo3 in grands they would have the same playoffs record as the other team, but would arbitrarily be 2nd instead of playing again to settle the score.yea, the actual most fair option on paper is to have to have (potential) double grand finals, like they do in melee. this doesn't make logistical sense for games where a match can take hours, so map disad is a compromise that's actually generally* more biased to the lower bracket team
Show Content*this is an interesting example of a niche scenario i found when i was checking that melee still does double grands:
https://liquipedia.net/smash/Smash_Summit/11
mango won both GF games and won the event, but would have lost under the map disad ruleset, since zain went 2-0 up in the first match
na used to have bracket reset format, which is obviously the most fair
however in an online situation where people play week nights it's even more unfeasible than bo5 1 map adv
6 maps could very reasonably go for 7 hours, esea s24 is probably the reason why most people wanted something different, which went on even later than this season's grand finals did
honestly playoffs would probably be way more hype if it all happened in one weekend, similar to how the old esea lans did, and that would solve the issue altogether cause you could start grands at like 2pm or something but I don't that would ever happen because I doubt the majority of players want something like that
lengthen them by 1-2 seconds (maybe even a bit more) and it becomes much harder to infinitely stall the point on OT
right now because of how powerful OT is you basically win the round 99% of the time if you get it
by far the worst part of the map
