Good kid, great soldiering skills. The young ones have the most free time to improve; he can get even better.

Hi, my name is bowswer5. Some of you guys might know me but I haven't really introduced myself to the bulk of the tf.tv community, mostly a lot of 6's players.
I love all forms of competitive TF2 - Highlander, 6v6, 4v4. I've picked up a few things here and there in 6v6 games from UGC, CEVO, and PuGs to start playing for a serious team. I also snipe in UGC Platinum Highlander so I consider myself as a solid multi-classer.
I don't want to look exclusively in any particular division. I will accept tryout offers from any team in any division to help myself get a better idea of how I compare against established 6's players. I'm an ambitious and confident player looking for a team that coordinates/blends well and has the drive to continue improving. I live about 20 minutes from the ESEA LAN venue in Dallas and I visited the most recent one in January so that's another motivator for me too.
Thanks for reading this and add me to talk. :)
(also, if there is any way I can talk about paying my fees alternatively through Steam or something I would be really grateful for that)
I wasn't going to sign up for ESEA until I remembered before I went to the most recent ESEA LAN I told my dad I was going to go see the best TF2 players, and then he kept text messaging me at the venue asking when I was going to get to play. lol
arctic joe is pretty good
clorgHildrethYou're talking about last two champions when I was clearly talking about the writeup's top teams in my first post. Maybe you should learn to read before fact checking.clorgHildrethLast year there was a 2 invite player limit. Now most teams consist of more than half invite. Also "rose through the ranks" lmaoclorgAll the top teams consist mostly of invite/main players. Highlander sure has changed a lot since last year
A lot of those rose through the ranks starting in HL, I don't see your point.
Fact checking, it is time to utilise this tool to help your cause, because you're way off course. Ginyu Force, Street Hoops - the last two champions, core of their team came from players who played in invite but started in Highlander, perhaps it is time for you to admit this scene has some talent in it.
I love the write up Argo.
If you're going to compare this season's top Platinum teams to the ones from a year ago you should be considering last year's two champions as well.
need a scout? maybe i could play
I had a really great time even though I was over for just a couple of hours yesterday. Watching the final was fantastic and I should've came a second time then! I'll probably stay over a little longer next time and not be as quiet.
It was really nice getting to see a bunch of competitive TF2 players there, especially meeting Rays, Slin, and Mangachu in the flesh. It was my first LAN and it's not going to be my last. :)
Hey guys, I was the one who happened to sign up early and that's why my name is on the front page (lol).
Anyways, I've been getting messages and adds from other GB/MLG players from CoD or whatever to 1v1 and some of them really do seem interested in the concept of TF2 competitive.
The problem is most of them have only 100-odd hours of the game, they don't know much about competitive TF2, and I think they're all just going to jump into this MLG TF2 league and do horribly against real TF2 players without any advice or guidance into the competitive community.
I don't really think we have anything that could help transition completely new players to competitive. I know we have Newbie Mixes but even that is for players that have been familiar with the game for at least a few hundred hours. What do you guys think we should do?
really great video man that was absolutely sick
Hey Fog is there anyway to download the crosshair files separately or be able to toggle them, or are these strictly static HUD crosshairs? I'm really digging that crosshair above "Z" that I would like have in my crosshair switcher.
I think it would be pretty cool to see some of the people from the Street Hoops Highlander team that won Platinum get nominated too
hakkabowswer5Sniper 6k pushing Gran last in a pick up game, all headshots, a little bit of luck, got the streak on my birthday (oct 2)thanks! and happy birthday (a bit late haha) to fix that, you have to disable Multicore rendering, then you can skip ticks :)

when i got it i tried recording it myself but it would crash when i skipped to the tick instead of fast forwarding the demo. i don't know if that may still be a problem.
EDIT: wow motherfucker this is one of the most sick 6k i saw in my life! I'm sure I'll use it :)
thanks :D i really loved the editing style in "Tonight". it was very impressive and im grateful that you'll use my clip in your next video
XplayerBuilt this a few months ago with the help of TFTV threads. A thread like this would have been really helpful then.

Too bad Hannspree doesn't make the 120Hz monitor I have anymore. It was by far the best bargain I've ever seen on a monitor.
wrong thread? lol :P

So I've been recording some demo files for a video using Lawena recently and compiling and compressing them through Vdub but I'm always getting the problem of not getting a good sound file from the game itself. They're often distorted with misplaced sounds and a lot of silence before and after I put them through Vdub.
Any way I could fix this problem? I think I have the latest versions of both programs.
EDIT: They released a recent update that might fix these problems so I'm testing it out right now.
