Thanks to nick (and more recently Uil) for making me a better editor every day with their advice. I have managed to improve my editing considerably over the last couple of years as a result.

MisterDannyCyanicthis appears to be a working proof of concept of RCE being performed on a client PC. definitely stay away from servers for now.

This is a renamed bot joining a private server and command prompt opened up.
This doesn't mean anything and could be faked incredibly easily
that's correct but there's further evidence as well being presented. still early days ofc.
edit: the below is quite clearly fake
this is potentially a working proof of concept of RCE being performed on a client PC, but could of course be fake. definitely stay away from servers for now if you're concerned.

MatthesCyanicis there a POC for this supposed RCE vuln anywhere? I haven't seen any evidence that it even exists yet.remember when the exact same thing happened to steam pages themselves a couple years back? I wouldn't go about risk taking right now buddy, anything is possible.
don't get me wrong I wasn't dismissing this advice, with something like this you can never be too careful. I would just appreciate any information that can be provided at this stage so that we can ascertain whether these are rumours or whether this vulnerability does exist.

JWBI dont know if there is a command to remove the player name but here are some other alternatives:
-using a special hud that doesnt include it (or removing it from your hud)
-disabling your entire hud with cl_drawhud 0. this also removes crosshair unfortunately. if you use lawena there is an option to disable hud elements but not crosshair, but it only works with the default hud so killfeed will be default hud.
lawena's "killfeed only" option is actually just a hud with everything except the killfeed turned off so you could just replace the killfeed files with one from another hud to have whatever killfeed you'd like.

you're wishing death on someone because you don't agree with their politics? truly goes to show what the political climate is like nowadays....
looks like the server DOS is facilitated by a (client side?) exploit rather than being a brute force attack.
i couldn't find a reliable source for this as, from what i've seen, all the cheating forums have a ban on posting the details. this is presumably so valve can't find out about it but i did find something saying there was a submission on hackerone that got marked as a dupe from a year ago, meaning valve has known about this for ages and hasn't done anything lol.
no problem, feel free to add me and ask if you have any more questions.
if you do a mirv_camexport with it then it'll export whatever the game viewport sees, so it should export your campath as a BVH yeah. I would however question why you want to do that though as if you're recording an agr surely it's for the purpose of recording cinematics in a different engine etc anyway?
Yes, this is how most modern tf2 videos are edited (although with both SFM and blender typically). Refer to antlers' tutorial here for recording agrs in tf2:
Thank you to everyone we've brought on board so far for offering your services, I'm really excited about this project now that we have some incredible people on it.
That said we're still looking for more mappers and anyone that can offer value, so please let me know if you're interested!
Hello!
We have began the initial stages of work on Environments 2, another TF2 edit that will feature custom maps. Due to the increased scope of this second project, it will require the work of multiple talented people to deliver. We already have some incredible people interested, and if you would like to work with us to make this happen, please get in touch!
Our team so far:
cyanic - editor
Uil - editor
nick - colourist
Mould - mapper
skaz - mapper
rockz - mapper
DubThink - mapper
kevin gator - mapper
Pretzel - sound designer
What we're looking for:
We are mainly looking for talented mappers to create either unique scenes or re-imaginings of classic maps for the frags selected by our editors to be placed on. You will be given a very high amount of creative freedom to build whatever you'd like, but it goes without saying that you'll need a fair amount of experience with Hammer for this role.
Aside from mappers, we are open to anybody that believes they may have something of value to bring to the project (for example, we could make use of SFM/Blender animators) so please get in touch if you want to help in any way.
Please contact me on Discord if you are interested at cyanic#2799
Fanta_Addictionok what can you not do with tf2 edits
This is really only scratching the surface of what's possible. There's a lot of potential for the future for sure.
