if the universe is flat how can people claim the earth is a globe
the earth can only be a globe if the universe is flat. in any other universe it'd be not truly round (tho only imperceptibly so)
to clarify about the universe being flat: iirc its only flat w/in the observable portion to a rather high certainty but it is possible for it to be round/hyperbolic to such a slight degree that it would be imperceptible given the current amount of universe we can see. That said, even if it was round to the maximum degree it could be and still be in a margin of error it would take longer for a photon to circle all the way around the universe than its likely that photon will even exist since the entire universe would need to be ~150x the current size so its effectively flat for any practical purposes within the next ~10 trillion years or so
