-Trying to get people to scrim and having 3 people tell you "Do you have 5 in Mumble? Tell me when you have 5 in Mumble"
infinite-We don't run our league as a "training camp" for other leagues.
Well admittedly your league is sort of an entry level league (in 6's, at least, not sure if there is any other choice for competitive pubbing). Most of the players that I see come out of UGC can't play on par with mid to high Open in ESEA (which I don't feel is an unreasonable benchmark), so I stopped trying out people who came out of UGC opting only for players who had ESEA experience.
Who wants to start the Fight Club
but in all seriousness, yeah most of it is kind of old. Anyone who needs to see this wont, nor will it affect their behaviors.
Yeah you might want to avoid talking about LoL around the large majority of DotA playing TF2 players
brownymasterDon't need money to make a team, just say yours on #tf2scrim. Also, if you can't be responsible, how can you be a responsible player (showing up to scrim times, making matches, making comms)? Being a team takes effort from everyone.
Also, you probably should state your class, info, etc. Those looking will probably want that to see if you'd fit in a team.
Yeah just about the hardest part about making a team is getting 5 people that can be on to scrim. Everyone seems to try their hardest to make sure they show up late/go AFK at the worst possible times/make things difficult/refuse to show up on time even when you give them one to two days notice.
Lights_Is this a joke?
Why would you do that?
He's going to become a professional date doctor, helping other competitive gamers kiss girls at homecoming dances

In general nobody wants to watch 30 minutes of slow, methodical, well timed pushes.
yeah i guess people like watching 40 mins of grinding for gear and occasional ganks + teamfights at the 25 min mark
don't forget hour long stall games to even the playing field once you get behind
Watching aggressive laners, high level cheese, constant ganks/jungle control and map control is pretty fun. Then again you may be right; 500,000 people are watching the wrong game while 5,000 at one point were watching the right game.
Well, either they like how the show "teaches good morals" and "promotes friendship, kindness, and respect"
or they want to drown in a vat of horse semen.
He's done very well since I mentored him at Medic to get on his first team
Blurrseanbudalso that's a huge point #16. if tf2 opened and there was even just a link to a tournament page or something, it would be immensely helpful
If valve hold a $1000000 prize tf2 tournament, ppl would like to play and watch
VALVE DOESNT CARE ABOUT COMP TF2
DotA was an investment. Putting that money into it really started it off strong, since it would pull a profit. Doing that to TF2 would just put them $1 mil in the hole.
Blurrsrsly lol is so bad compare to dota
dota2 TI2 hit 6Million
*TOTAL views
DoTA2 peaked at 1.5 million at one time (mostly because of China)
seanbudthere's far fewer slow moments in tf2 than in moba games. really don't understand what's holding us back :/
In general nobody wants to watch 30 minutes of slow, methodical, well timed pushes. You'd have to be VERY into the game to understand and appreciate watching that, and you need a good eye to be able to spot WHY things are happening. I'd go as far to say that most of the TF2 community wouldn't find watching 6's entertaining except when watching something like i46 where you're somewhat emotionally invested in the teams that are playing; other than that, I just wanna see frag movie worthy events.
I think that's why fighting games will be the ultimate game to stream. Matches last a couple minutes, they're easy to watch, it's easy to understand who is winning and who is losing, and watching people pull off crazy ass combos and make awesome comebacks that happen in a matter of seconds makes for a hell of a spectator sport.
Also yesterday the championships broke 500,000 at one time, so that's pretty cool. I think regardless of whether you hate LoL or not, we should embrace it. Anything that brings more sponsors and money into competitive gaming makes me happy.
