This is amazing. I'm not sure if I'm going to switch back to your HUD, but regardless, great work. Thank you.

Although this is a very 'personal preference' type decision, I would go with red or brown. Red and brown are both very light keys (they have the same springs iirc). Personally, my fingers get tired using blacks. Reds are the same thing as blacks except they require less force for actuation. Browns are effectively reds, except there is a very light click upon actuation. Personally I much prefer the light feedback of browns to the much more noticeable (both feel and sound) feedback of blues. Personally, I prefer browns for typing and reds for gaming, although the difference is very negligible for me.
Also, attend local LANs and play in/help organize their tf2 tournaments. Easy and extremely fun way to get people interested in competitive tf2.
SeverianVickMHonestly, my best advice for you would to be to just start playing in newbie mixes. Pick a class you like (I'm sensing soldier?) and start playing. You can post to the mentoring section here if you have questions or want to find someone to help introduce you to the game. Maybe if you are already in contact with frkn?
Yeah, I'm definitely going to make it to a mix soon, hopefully this Friday. I would have played last time, but I was way too ill. I'm not in touch with frkn, but he gave he a link to some STV demos of last LAN upthread, which was greatly appreciated. I was really sick over the weekend, but I spent a little while watching mixup's rollouts on Badlands at 50% speed, along with other parts of the match.
Add me on steam if you want (link in profile). I'm only mid-high open but that's plenty good to help a new player get started. I've played both roamer and pocket for teams so I'm quite familiar with soldier and have some main-calling experience.
Edit: forgot to add that I won't really be available over winter break, but after that I can help.
Yeah, I don't really see why anybody would want to use a MGE server w/ significantly different ping than Dallas or Chicago as that is where most matches will be played anyways.
That's just my opinion, though.
where do you work/what do you do O.O
This is awesome, thanks for all you do for us Sal!
Scrapple is so much better than hot dogs
these kids are cool, play with them if you're good
I like the last crossaint one the best
swiperfrknWhat these 2 have said, except I would skip the SSD. IMO, an SSD is not worth it if I can't fit Windows AND ALL of my programs on it.
I would definitely get an SSD, even if it required a slight downgrade on something else. I built a new computer recently and having an SSD was by far the most noticeable upgrade. 64 GB is ridiculously small though, you can get 120 GB for a little over $100.
Just my opinion though.
Yeah that's what I meant, if you're gonna get an SSD you really should go 120/128 or higher.
hooky2sy_morphiendI think you mean at most. You basically said the competition is better than mid IM.G1what would infinite do
Tell you that he doesn't need to offer incentives to get people to play in his far superior league, with competition that is at a mid IM level AT LEAST.
No he was quoting infinite so it was accurate
TwitchTVJohnLazyPandaBuild your own, its easy and will be a lot cheaper.
If you need any help the guys at www.reddit.com/r/buildapc are very helpful and can help you with any questions you might have
Personally, this is what I would choose but it's all up for debate. Do some research on your own and see what conclusions you draw

This build is great, but the video card is a poor choice. MSI 660ti power edition is the GPU of choice for anybody building a single card machine right now. It out performs the 670 SC and the 680.
