MissHedgehogAccording to Forbes, the Steam Box will never happen. Interesting article, what do you think?
I doubt Valve will build their own steam box, but I reckon they will work closely with an established OEM on a "semi-official" steam box, a la google nexus.
atmoScoffer_atmoIt's a nice idea but the reality isn't that pretty. If you want them to be cheap enough to sell well, you either have to go through a third party and make almost no profit while selling mediocre quality items (caf
^I personally love the ocassional clip that includes the live commentary, assuming its a huge play that really gets the casters excited
and I don't want damage numbers in frag vids :3
left 4 dead 4 sounds so ridiculous
VortexI guess XCOM could count partially as an RPG, even though the gameplay is all top down RTS strategy.
its turn based strategy

Zorro"what large teeth you have grandma"

buckweetMmmm, I wouldn't be so sure. cs:go had so many fucking teams last season in open alone.
Last years total cash prize pot for tf2: $15,840
http://play.esea.net/index.php?s=esports&d=comments&id=12899
Lets say for ballpark we only have 7 paid players per team (obviously this isn't always the case, sometimes more).
S14
Open: 60 teams | fee: $8 | 60*8*7= $3360
Intermediate: 25 teams | fee: $12 | 25*12*7= $2100
Invite: 10 teams | fee: $50 | 10*50*7= $3600
Very, very roughly $9060 raised for ourselves by TF2 league fees. Let's say since there are usually floaters and such, more people paid than 7 per team give another $2k raised by ourselves for padding. That's like $12k we raised ourselves, and TF2 prize pot saw $15,840 in S14. Depending on whether TF2 actually helps with some sort of sponsorship or advertising revenue, its even possible we see more of the cs players league fees than they do ours.
wasnt the prize pot higher because of the bitcoin scandal
tf2 probably didn't get any of that money but idk
somedays i go to work and actually work
They always deny that there will be an extension until the official announcement
boppetAlso, if you don't play MGE, why come off as so hostile on something you've never experienced?
"I don't play mge" != "I have never played a round of mge in my life"
