#4 What are teams looking for in sponsorships? in TF2 General Discussion

Viper nailed it - this is how you sponsor a team these days. This past season and the season before I offered my Mumble and server and.. people just don't usually need those in ESEA.

If you're looking at UGC, there may be some lower level teams that would love a server though. Maybe try their forums if that interests you.

#27 Girl at my school committed suicide in Off Topic

Another +1 on the antidepressants because I used to be vehemently against the idea of them too. But the reality is, they got me out of bed during my lowest times and allowed me to work on the issue with friends and family.

While I don't have experience with suicides, I lost my brother at age 19 and figure this thread is as good a place as any to offer myself up to anyone that needs to talk about any of this stuff. Just add me on Steam.

flufnHow are unusuals priced on saloon and do gifted/dupes work?

Great question actually.. is gift text maybe the reason why the site won't accept my fairly common unusual?

#22 Katie/Maqe/Uberace is really creepy. in TF2 General Discussion

The Katie person was very weird and there was definitely something up with it from the start.. coming here, immediately wanting to be a caster, get a new PC, and host a pug tournament. Glad someone decided to look into it.

#55 DHW2015 GF: Reason Gaming vs. swedeRage*Essentials.tf*tf2pickup.net in Matches
zeSIMONMoments like these actually make me happy that TF2 isn't a huge, 100% serious esport that is ruled by money and big companies :)
We have the most talented, most creative and most ridiculous community there is, and that's a good thing :D

This is the first time TF2 has ever been at Dreamhack. This is supposed to be a huge opportunity for us to show our game, competitive 6v6, to Europe and the world; to people who may not know it exists, in advance of a coming boom in the game. Does it not cheapen or dilute the message of "We are an e-sport" to play a circlejerk map of Sideshow's face at the end of our event? Many people outside our community currently think TF2 is a joke or a cartoon game.

Would we be okay with doing this at the end of Insomnia LAN as well? At the end of ESEA LAN or future LAN events? I don't hate fun, I don't hate Sideshow or anybody involved in the map, I just disagree with the decision to place it at the end of such a fantastic competitive event. Why does it fit? Everybody knows TF2 is fun already - because everyone on Steam has it.

Fun shit like this is great for charity events or more casual events. Sure, for a charity event, do Trainsawlaser or dodgeball or randomizer or make Sideshow's nose out of spire. But I feel like keeping the serious events (competitive tournaments) serious (relatively speaking) is important.

#39 DHW2015 GF: Reason Gaming vs. swedeRage*Essentials.tf*tf2pickup.net in Matches

Thank you Dreamhack, competitive TF2 is a serious e-sport and we'll see you in 2016 for matchmaking!

Now for our grand finale we're going to pub on a map that's just a guy's face. Good night!

#36 Poster revealed for DreamHack Winter in News
ThatRedRobotGetawhaleWhat does the tagline "Something Borrowed. Something New." mean
It's a reference to a wedding rhyme

Something old,
something new,
something borrowed,
something blue,
and a silver sixpence in her shoe

I assume tf2 is the something old.

Yes, I was more interested in the relevance to the event.

NHL 96 through about 2002 or so.. first for SNES and then for PC starting with NHL 99.

THPS2 (for PC)

I'm sure there are a ton I'm forgetting but these are some of the games I spent an embarrassingly high number of hours on as a kid. Super Mario 3 also comes to mind.

#220 ESEA S20 Playoffs: froyotech vs. Team SoloUber in Matches
Charles32TevsCorrect me if I am mistaken, but I did not hear the casters share team coms, I wonder why they don't do this?

EU casters do it quite often

Many reasons, including racial slurs/hate speech that's fine when it's between teammates but less fine when it's in front of hundreds of viewers. Some teams just don't want to do it as well; teams have to join our casting Mumble in order for us to have it available.
