#75 Overwatch Event Impressions in Other Games

I think that everyone should stop being such an ass to muselk. He's a good guy. Either way, he is kinda sucking on the overwatch nipple

The customization kinda concerns me. When you download tf2, it starts as a blank slate. You can fit it and form it any way you want. For overwatch, we might not have that kind of customization, like cl_interp, cl_interp_ratio, r_drawviewmodel, among many others. Who knows if we'll even have a dev console.

Muselk does make a good point about the skill ceiling, which we haven't really discussed yet. It's got really (frankly) shitty movement mechanics and a lot of it seems really easy. Like, charge attacks that do work for you? For real (watch the release trailer or whatever it's called and skip to the reaper part). Tf2 high level players that are at the top of the game (b4nny, clockwork) are the best, but they can still get better. I feel like it's not gonna be like that in overwatch, with decreased longevity and getting bored quickly. While some players have stayed active in tf2 for eight years, i don't think we'll see that with overwatch.

#1 Fragmovie help in Videos

I'm trying to get into editing, and I need some help learning how to do cinematic shots. By cinematic shots, I mean some of the shots in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ii4mWZRLHH4 at like 0:14, 0:22, 0:29, and 0:42 (there are more throughout the video, these are just the first few). It seems like it's definitely not done manually, some program must do it. If anyone knows said program or how to do it, please help!

#12 What would you compare ESEA open to? in TF2 General Discussion
FrankenBerryomnificgr8stalinomnificbut when is the best time?Next season. If you've already got a squad ready to commit, that's even better.

Unless "a couple of seasons" of Steel translates to 1 or 2.

But at this point I'm with a really great team (not just good players, good people) and we work really well together, but I don't think that some of them would be ready to commit to open (you have to pay for esea as well, correct?)

You gotta pay, but if they arnt ready now what makes you think they will be ready later? Going in to open with a ugc team most teams lose a player. Right now my open team is 1-7 and in this half of the season we improved more than any 2 ugc seasons. My biggest regret was staying in ugc for 4 seasons before moving up

Thanks for the advice, I think we're gonna do really well in steel this year (we're scrimming silver teams and doing well. After this season I think we'll move on to silver, at which point I'll suggest open

marmadukeGRYLLSomnificbut when is the best time?whenever you decide you want to try and get really good at tf2.

But ever since I've started playing competitive I've always wanted to try and get really good at tf2. I mean, I think I'm going down the right track to someday play in open or even IM, I'm just not sure how many seasons of UGC I should play prior

What would you guys compare ESEA open to in UGC? I'm playing steel 6's now, and after a couple of seasons I'm hoping to be able to join ESEA open, but when is the best time?

#1 Editing console commands/ hud? in Customization

Ok, I'm trying to start editing a fragmovie for my team. Basically getting the clips isn't an issue, but recording them with the settings I want is. I wanna record without HUD, but I still wanna see the killfeed. Every movie I've ever seen does this, but how? Do I have to download a custom HUD, or are there console commands that I should use

This disables all gibs, also PUT THIS INTO YOUR AUTOEXEC FILE. How to make an autoexec? Go into your tf folder, click on the cfg folder, and then copy one of the files that is a CFG type file. Paste it back into your cfg folder, and then rename it to autoexe.cfg. Be sure to leave the original file (the one that you copied) or you're gonna be screwed. Then open up the file using notepad (I would download notepad ++, it saves tons of time trying to change settings in your hud) and delete all the text in it. Then copy and paste any commands you want into the cfg file, and then save using notepad. Open/reopen your game, and you'll have whatever autoexec files you wanted put into your game. Enjoy!

I also use net_graph 1 so i can see my ping and fps
