#41 MAJOR TF2 update for 3/12/15 in TF2 General Discussion
wattersonfixed a name change exploit. can somebody tell whether or not that'll be effective against hackers, etc?
Valve- Reduced the latency of voice audio
Also, this seems interesting to me.

Yes, the fix will be effective against hackers. On servers that use the votekick options that are built into tf2, people could have a script or something to change their name to someone else's on the server every five seconds or so, rendering it nearly impossible to votekick.

#156 The Keyboard Thread (last updated Sep. 24, 2013) in Hardware

I'm using a Razer blackwidow tournament, and I was thinking of replacing my WASD, left control, and space bar switches with either reds or blacks. I know the monetary cost is low, but what is the risk of fucking up my keyboard/how long will it take?

#374 The 120Hz Monitor Thread in Hardware

Thinking of picking up a 144hz, would this be a good choice? Are there other options below $350 that feature the 144/120 hz display and 1ms response time that this one does, but have a bigger display?

- Logitech G502
- Steelseries Kana V2
- Steelseries Rival
- Mionix Avoir 7000
- Cooler Master Storm Spawn
- Cooler master Storm Alcor
- Roccat Savu
- Roccat Kone Pure Optical
- Roccat Kone Pure Military
- Mad Catz R.A.T. 3
- Corsair M45

All of these have Zero mouse acceleration, so they should be fantastic for gaming.

Doesnt The Mionix Naos 7000 Have the same sensor as the avior, thus no mouse accel?

I have a steelseries sensei raw, it has no mouse accel (I'm pretty sure) and I have a lot of friends who moved to CS who use it. It's really good, I think it deserves an add to the list

#13 tips on avoiding procrastination in Q/A Help

A thing that I do is make a chart for myself. I say what I want to accomplish within an hour, and try to complete it. If i don't I feel pretty guilty about it later.

#16 Favorite Subway Sandwich in Off Topic

I don't like subway, I can't eat cold sandwiches (preference). However at potbelly I go with this

Italian, regular size
Italian seasoning
sour cream and onion/regular barbeque chips
either a vanilla or chocolate malt or a cookies and cream shake
sometimes a cream soda

#75 Overwatch Event Impressions in Other Games

I think that everyone should stop being such an ass to muselk. He's a good guy. Either way, he is kinda sucking on the overwatch nipple

The customization kinda concerns me. When you download tf2, it starts as a blank slate. You can fit it and form it any way you want. For overwatch, we might not have that kind of customization, like cl_interp, cl_interp_ratio, r_drawviewmodel, among many others. Who knows if we'll even have a dev console.

Muselk does make a good point about the skill ceiling, which we haven't really discussed yet. It's got really (frankly) shitty movement mechanics and a lot of it seems really easy. Like, charge attacks that do work for you? For real (watch the release trailer or whatever it's called and skip to the reaper part). Tf2 high level players that are at the top of the game (b4nny, clockwork) are the best, but they can still get better. I feel like it's not gonna be like that in overwatch, with decreased longevity and getting bored quickly. While some players have stayed active in tf2 for eight years, i don't think we'll see that with overwatch.

#1 Fragmovie help in Videos

I'm trying to get into editing, and I need some help learning how to do cinematic shots. By cinematic shots, I mean some of the shots in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ii4mWZRLHH4 at like 0:14, 0:22, 0:29, and 0:42 (there are more throughout the video, these are just the first few). It seems like it's definitely not done manually, some program must do it. If anyone knows said program or how to do it, please help!

#12 What would you compare ESEA open to? in TF2 General Discussion
FrankenBerryomnificgr8stalinomnificbut when is the best time?Next season. If you've already got a squad ready to commit, that's even better.

Unless "a couple of seasons" of Steel translates to 1 or 2.

But at this point I'm with a really great team (not just good players, good people) and we work really well together, but I don't think that some of them would be ready to commit to open (you have to pay for esea as well, correct?)

You gotta pay, but if they arnt ready now what makes you think they will be ready later? Going in to open with a ugc team most teams lose a player. Right now my open team is 1-7 and in this half of the season we improved more than any 2 ugc seasons. My biggest regret was staying in ugc for 4 seasons before moving up

Thanks for the advice, I think we're gonna do really well in steel this year (we're scrimming silver teams and doing well. After this season I think we'll move on to silver, at which point I'll suggest open
