KanecoAfaik HLAE is not a plugin, it's a straight dll injected into the client (much like a lot of cheats are). So it can probably happen.
You used TF2 in your example.

KanecoBut for example I have binds to join servers in my config, if I accidently launched tf2 in secure mod and pressed one of those binds by accident while recording it would be pretty unfortunate but probably would get a vac ban while not cheating.
That'd be true except insecure plugins are not enabled when tf2 is launched in secure mode, that's the whole point of secure mode and why it even exists.

What people need to understand is that VAC bans are only triggered when people cheat on VAC secured servers. You could have all cheats known to man on your desktop, you could be hacking into the white house, you could even be cheating on non-vac servers but none of that will trigger a VAC ban.

It is impossible for SAM to trigger VAC as it does not interact with the tf2 executable at all. Anyone claiming that it does is simply using it as a scapegoat.
